Useless Information You’re probably wondering how I could possibly link Bill Clinton, Lance Armstrong, Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens together in the same sentence. Where’s the connection? They were all relentlessly pursued by fanatical prosecutors that were convinced that they all used PED (performance enhancing drugs) because of their accomplishments on the playing field. Bill Clinton was chased for other reasons known only to Ken Starr. Lance Armstrong has long been hounded by people convinced that he was doping it up (or using PED’s). Now keep in mind that Lance Armstrong has always denied using any PED’s during his career in cycling, a sport that is nortorius for drug abuse. A sport that has had winners dethroned for failing a drug test. Lance Armstrong won SEVEN Tour de France races. The Tour de France is the PREMIER cycling race and he won seven. During that time he was tested for using PED’s no less than 500 times and never failed one test. Not once. So what’s the problem? Ask Bill Clinton. Ask Barry Bonds. Ask Roger Clemens. In each of their cases, nothing could be proven. So, think what you want, they retained any titles they won on the field (or in the case of Bill Clinton, the Oval Office). Lance Armstrong was stripped of his titles because he chose not to incriminate himself in an arbitration hearing that was as rigged as the people running it. No way to win. So he chose not to participate. His right not to incriminate himself. The American way, right? Wrong. The USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) just took the titles of a race that they had absolutely no jurisdiction over, namely the Tour de France. Outrageous. Absolutely outrageous. They should be ashamed of themselves. A slew of prosecutors trying to make a name for themselves at the expense of the Greatest Cyclist ever. Think I’m wrong? Live Strong, the foundation started by Lance Armstrong, generally had donations that averaged $3200 daily. The day he was stripped of his medals, donations exceeded $80,000 dollars. His foundation has raised over $500 million for cancer research, quadrupling any other fund raising efforts by athletes. Wonder how much USADA has contributed to cancer research? Care to contribute: go to the web site: www.livestrong.org I’ve followed each case and found them all fascinating, especially Ken Starr vs. Bill Clinton. Couldn’t wait to read about what was happening on a daily bases. Better than the sports page, actually should have been on the sports page. In the cases against Bonds, Clemens and Clinton, no evidence about what they were accused of could be found, so they were all eventually charged with lying to a federal prosecutor, all were found innocent, at a cost of billions of tax dollars. So I say, got no evidence? Then just shut up and go away.

BRAIN TEASERS 1. Johnny’s mother had three children. The first child was named April. The second child was named May. What was the first child’s name? 2. There is a clerk at the butcher shop. What was the president’s name in 1975?
BUMPER STICKER on a Military Base “Death smiles at everyone . . . Marines smile back.” CREDULOUS AND INCREDULOUS FACTS: • A man named Ed Peterson is the inventor of the Egg McMuffin. • Americans eat an average of 18 pounds of fresh apples each year. The most popular variety in the United States is Red Delicious. • Mr. Peanut was invented in 1916 by a Suffolk, Virginia schoolchild who won $5 in a design contest sponsored by Planter’s Peanuts. • Men can read smaller print than women can: women can hear better. • Coca Cola was originally green. Answers: 1. Johnny, of course; 2. Meat; 3. Mt. Everest, it just wasn’t discovered yet; 4. There is no dirt in a hole; 5. Incorrectly; 6. Billy lives in the Southern Hemisphere; 7. You can’t take picture with a wooden leg. You need a camera to take pictures; 8. Same as it now. Barack O’Bama.
