Season in Review & Championship Info The Golden Hawks return to the national championships for the fourth consectutive year. The team finished the season with a 19-2-3 record and their sixth provincial banner in the program's short history. Laurier won every series battle against their opponents this season only losing to Toronto and York in the regular season. This team, under three time OUA coach of the year Rick Osborne, has seen contribution from many of their players on their offense this season and the team’s defense has been strong as well with the third lowest goals against in Canada. The strongest offense in the province this season was the Golden Hawks with 77 goals for this season. They were 13 goals ahead of their closest competition - the Queen’s Golden Gaels. Second year forward Lauren Barch led the attack leading the province in goals this season with 14. Defenseman Andrea Bevan and Captain Laurissa Kenworthy are each a goal behind her with 13 on the year. This group of athletes makeup three of the top four point-getters in the province of Ontario. Goalies Morgan Wielgosz and Liz Knox make up the base of one of the strongest defenses in the province as the two split the season fairly evenly this year. Wielgosz has a 1.02 goals against average this season and a save percentage of 95.1% on her 10-1-2 record. The Dorchester native also picked up four shutouts on the season.
