The Unitor XFlow ® wet pipe system is designed to protect closed ro-ro and special category spaces against fires. The Unitor XFlow ® deluge system is developed for protection of small open ended ro-ro and special category spaces. Both systems have prescriptive based design and meet the latest IMO MSC.1/Circ.1430 regulation, providing improved fire protection for ro-ro and ropax vessels. THE UNITOR WET PIPE AND DELUGE SYSTEMS are designed for marine applications and delivered with necessary certifi cates and approvals. Easy installation The Unitor XFlow ® wet pipe and deluge systems use low pressure components and piping e na bling e a sy a nd c ost s av ing insta ll atio n. Extensive documentation is available for better planning and design of the ro-ro space, and standardised product range ensure short and predictable delivery times.

Efficient operation The low pressure Unitor XFlow ® wet pipe and deluge systems have been developed by our experienced and competent industr y exper ts, and are extensively tested at the SP* laboratory in Sweden. Based on well proven nozzles and components, Wilhelmsen Technical Solutions has designed a reliable system with large bore nozzles that reduce the risk of clogging. The systems use seawater and do not require extra fresh water supply during operation. To avoid corrosion and clean up after testing, the systems are connected to a fresh water supply. Standard tool and spare part kits are available for commissioning and service to ensure effi cient operations. The high quality low pressure systems are easy to maintain, making them cost effective solutions throughout the life time of the vessel. System description The Unitor XFlow ® wet pipe and deluge systems for ro-ro spaces and special category spaces are designed to protect both open ro-ro spaces and closed ro-ro spaces for vehicles containing cargo and fuel hazard. The systems can be installed independently or in combination. However, the systems cannot be combined in the same protected space. The Unitor XFlow ® wet pipe system is an automatic system, primarily designed for closed ro-ro spaces. The nozzles have glass bulbs, and are attached to a pressurized piping system connected to water pumps. The glass bulb is fi lled with a liquid and an air bubble. When the bulb is heated, the liquid absorbs the air bubble and expands until it breaks the glass, releasing the water. The Unitor XFlow ® deluge system is primarily designed to protect open ro-ro spaces, using open nozzles attached to a piping system connected to water pumps. The protected space is divided into sections, each with a section valve located outside of the protected area. In case of fi re in a section, the section valve is opened, and water will fl ow from all nozzles in that section.
