Regulation states that vessels carrying containers on or above the weather deck, constructed on or after January 2016 shall carry at least one water mist lance. Further, vessels designed to carry fi ve or more tiers of containers on or above the weather deck, shall carry a number of mobile water monitors. THE UNITOR TM XFLOW® MOBILE WATER MONITOR AND WATER MIST LANCE are designed to protect ships carrying containers on or above weather deck. Quick fire response The Unitor XFlow mobile water monitor is easy to carry and can be quickly assembled and operated by one crew member. One waterway connection means fast response time from alarm to operation as crew only needs to roll out one hose. Hydrant adaptors are available to meet customer demands. The monitor has a dual purpose nozzle for spray and jet functionality. That combined with an easy elevation feature ensure precise and efficient fire suppression. With nominal nozzle pressure of 4 bar, the throwing distance is 40 m and the monitor can protect up to 10 tiers of containers, and even more at higher pressure. Based on the proven XFlow technology, the low pressure water monitor is developed with large bores to avoid clogging. In addition, low water requirements can save on extra installation costs linked to higher water supply demand. This makes the water monitor reliable and cost effi cient. The monitor is fi tted with legs to ensure stability, and can operate as long as needed unattended.
Easy to use The Unitor XFlow water mist lance and its equipment comes in a practical tool case for easy storage and use. For fast fire response, the lance kit is equipped with a drill to penetrate the container wall quickly and safely, even during rolling and pitching at sea. Both the drill and the lance can be operated by one crew member and are fitted with an extension to protect the operator from the hot surface. The lance is designed and tested for optimised fire fighting based on guidelines from a leading fire laboratory in Norway to ensure efficient cooling and oxygen depletion to suppress the fire. The lance is developed with a holder that enables it to be left unattended in operation allowing crew to focus on other tasks.

Product description In case of fi re in a container, the water mist lance and the water monitor can be used together or independently. The water mist lance tool case contains a battery operated drill, a fi re hose and the lance itself. The equipment can easily be carried, mounted and operated by one person. The lance is connected to the fi re main using the hose in the tool case, and water is released by pushing the valve handle. With the drill, it is easy and fast to drill a hole in the container wall, preferably quite high up on the wall. The lance is then inserted in the hole, and the groove in the fixing sleeve fastens in the container wall. The lance can then operate unattended as long as needed.
adjusted by a turning wheel, from 0째 to 90째, and the direction is set by turning the monitor. The monitor stays stable by itself, and can operate as long as needed.
The water monitor is easy to carry and assemble by one single person. After assembly, the monitor can be placed on deck or other horizontal surface without any straps or fastening devises. It is however fi tted with a strap that can be used if the ship is rolling or pitching in heavy seas. The monitor is connected to the fi re main with a standard fi re hose, and starts operating as soon as the hydrant valve is opened. The angle of the water jet is easily
