Tall Poppy logo type started off as a hand drawn typeface. The aim of this custom typeface was to capture the literal word of ‘tall’ in the elongated nature of the letters. Thin lines were used as they represent the physical nature of the poppy plant.

Small sketches of possible produce were incorporated into the logo to give it a whimsical hand made impression. This links with the companies premium wine and fine food image, whilst keeping an image of traditional production values.

Finally, a by-line was added to reinforce the nature of the company using Garamond Pro, its classic, serif look, contrasting well with the hand drawn logo. Two colours were added to ground the company in the South Coast region, a champagne yellow (representing the sand of the beaches) and a plum purple (representing the sunsets and some native fauna).
