Introduced in the early 17th century the flintlock continued in common use for over two hundred years. But due to the time needed to reload this notoriously inaccurate firearm industrious individuals added multiple barrels for multiple shots on target at a faster rate. Genuine Antique Gurkha Army Kukris From the Royal Nepal Army Stained with the blood, sweat and tears of the legendary Gurkha, some of these authentic, ORIGINAL military issue Kukris are over 100 years old! These have all seen service with both the Nepali military and the British Army. All of the blades are marked in Devangari script with the date of manufacture. These kukris were carried and used by Gurkha soldiers during WWII, WWI, and earlier campaigns, some prior to 1890. After they were decommissioned they were stored in the royal armory (the palace of Lagan Silekhana) in Kathmandu until Atlanta Cutlery bought them from the Royal Nepalese Army. Each of these was skillfully made by hand, the steel smelted, forged, shaped and hammered by an expert from the Nepalese Kami clan. As spears and the Kora sword were being replaced by firearms, the kukri was the weapon of choice for hand-to-hand combat. We can hand select the best ones for an additional fee. U.S. Model 1917 Bolo Knife with Scabbard Our military used the same basic bolo knife from the turn of the century through WWII. Manufactured from 1897 to 1918 it went through a number of changes during its production life. First issued to medical personnel in the field it was later issued to fighting troops and used to clear brush, fields of fire and for any task requiring a “chopper”. We have chosen to reproduce the 1917 version that was made in great numbers during 1917 and 1918.
