About the Pattern “ikirouta (fin)- permafrost (eng)” Ikirouta Beanie is made in collaboration with Opal yarns to highlight their Frozen collection. Chunky cables work up quickly in the squishy 8-ply yarn. The crown decreases top the head with a lovely flower, reminding us that spring is just around the corner. Until then, when winter chills you deep within your core, this cozy hat is sure to melt your personal permafrost.

Left purl cable; Slip next 2 stitches to CN and place at front of work, p1, then k2 from CN. Right purl cable; Slip next stitch to CN and place at back of work, k2, then p1 from CN. Pattern With smaller needles, CO 96 (116, 136) sts. Work the ribbing for 11 rnds total: *K2tbl, p2*; rep to eor. After ribbing, switch to larger needles. K for 1 rnd and, at the same time, decrease a total of 1 (2, 3) st(s). The work now has 95 (114, 133) sts total. Continue by following the Chart. The st pattern reps 5 (6, 7) x per rnd. You may find it helpful to place stitch markers between repeats. Size S: Work Chart Rnds 13-64. Size M: Work Chart Rnds 7-64. Size L: Work Chart Rnds 1-64. Cut the yarn and pull the tail through the remaining sts and to inside of the beanie. Weave in the ends.
