About the Pattern Jalowilla shawl pattern was designed in collaboration with Jalovilla. Jalovilla is a small Finnish yarn dyer whose yarns are morally valuable and sublime. Jalovilla uses only 100% Finnish wool, and all Jalovilla yarn is hand-dyed with environmentally-friendly methods. The Jalowilla shawl pattern is designed for Jalovilla’s gorgeous single-ply lace yarn.

6 mm (US 10) circular needles OR size needed to attain gauge. Please take time to swatch before you cast on.

Stockinette: 14 sts x 25 rows = 10 cm / 4" Swatch should be measured after blocking.

M1R: With the left-hand needle pick up the strand between the last stitch you knit and the one you’re about to knit, from the back to the front. K through the front loop. Continue working Chart B (lace increases): Work Rows 1-8 20 times total. Work has 100 sts total. DECREASES: Continue working Chart C (lace decreases): Work Rows 1-8 20 times total. Work has 20 sts total. Proceed to Chart D (decreasing tip): Work Rows 1-20. The work now has 10 sts total. BIND OFF: Row 1 (RS): Sl1, k2tog, k to eon. (1 st decreased) Row 2 (WS): Sl1 wyif, p to eon.
