Fruit: 10–20 × 9–20 mm; seeds 1–4, 4–7 × 4–5 mm. Jan.–May. Habit: vine. Leaves: compound; leaflets usually 5, 25–150 × 15–60 mm. Key features: leaflet underside whitish. Distribution: Cooktown area NE Qld to the Orbost area Vic.

FLINTWOOD Scolopia braunii

SALICACEAE

Fruit: 11–13 × 11–13 mm; seeds 1–6, 3–5 mm long. Dec.–Apr. Habit: tree to 30 m. Leaves: simple, 40–120 × 10–50 mm, entire or toothed. Key features: white seeds in orange pulp, leaves 3-veined at base. Distribution: Torres Strait islands to Kiama NSW. 40

Fruit: (the green section) 10–20 × 7–14 mm wide; receptacle red, 15–18 × 16– 17 mm; seeds 1. Oct.–Jan. Habit: a tree to 30 m. Leaves: simple, 85–250 × 6–20 mm. Key features: red receptacle smaller than P. dispermus (see below). Distribution: Heathlands National Park to Mt Elliot near Townsville NE Qld.

Fruit: (the green section) 17–22 × 12–19 mm; receptacle red, 27–45 × 14– 30 mm; seeds 1 per fruit, 10–13 mm long. July–Mar. Habit: a tree to 20 m. Leaves: simple, 70–450 × 16–38 mm, shiny. Key features: red receptacle larger than P. grayae (see above). Distribution: Gordonvale area to the Innisfail area NE Qld.
