Process/inspiration When I started my portfolio I wanted to explore the concept of identity through colors, but after a few drawings that didn’t make it in, I realized this idea was a bit restraining, for there were other ways to represent identity. This is why I continued investigating identity itself, drawing pictures of people, mostly, that I thought represented their personalities and who they were. Slowly, I began questioning what things build my identity and focused on works based on people I love like my father, mother, and grandparents, places that have made me who I am, activities that I’m passionate about, and different stages of my life that have taught me many lessons. Additionally, I tried to explore my identity through experimentation, given that I am just now building it based on decisions and new experiences. This is reflected in my investigation through media and techniques explored (such as digital drawing and printing) and the different surfaces used, such as food trays, big painted canvases, and mirrors. Overall, I think my portfolio accurately represents the exploration of identity and of myself
