Free Plane Project -1-
This project was conducted in a three step process. The first step was the “Free Plane” project, which entales creating spaces. From there I made use of the plans and added them to my “Folded Model” to add more intricate movements. Finally, I was to make a final model using specific guidlines. Which instructed me to indicate specific movements that was needed within each space.

Cement Project -5 I began learning how to use other materials like cement. Here I stuided the golden section and created a model and drawings that followed a consistent flow and hierarchy.

Final Project -7 This final projected involved all previous projects including my folded and free plane project as well as the use of cement. Here I made conceptual movements within the project. Starting with the axon produced in the previous exercise. I then studied how a frame can be configured as a means to support the folded structure as well as articulating the organizational ideas.

Water Works -11-
This project instructed me to delvop a natural water park using a slopped terrain. In order to construct a natural flow of water, I needed to practice the process of excavation. From there I examined the relationships between the trees, the ruins, the spring source, and the water flow. I noted that site proportions are within the golden ratio and I established an organizational grid. Combined with the grid and landmarks I used a variety of line weights to establish a hierarchy within the grid system. Using my drawings , I created a foam core model of the site by cutting layers of 3/16 foam core for each of the topographic contours.

This Project involved a site in Brooklyn New York. An area near the water that had extreme potential. The Sylubus stated that I needed to present a museum which housed a turret, the USS Monitor, a cafe and a thearter. This building was set in order to please the eye, and the desires of the public.

Morgan Library -27Basement This project is the precedent study of the Morgan library. The Morgan Library & Museum is a museum and research library located at 225 Madison Avenue in Manhattan, New York City. This site has been developed over many years ago but additionally has had renovations and add ons.

Bird Blind -31 This project asked me to design a gateway and a birder terrace, or a bird blind, for the Central Park Reservoir in New York City. A bird blind consists of shelter, often camouflaged. Commonly used to observe wildlife, especially birds, at close quarters. Although hides were once built chiefly as hunting aids, they are now commonly found in parks and wetlands. Specifically for the use of bird watchers, and other observers who do not want to disturb wildlife.

Smith House -35Elevations
This project was a precedent study of the Smith House By Richard Meier. It was built in 1967 located in Darien, Connecticut. This home was designed wonderfully. Meier organized the floor plan by zoning. The bedrooms and private areas are located in the closed prisim, while the service and socail areas are located on the open ground floor.

Fort Tryon -39-
The Fort Tryon project listed space requirements which were relatively straightforward. The visitor center is an active facility, connecting people with history in a very public and lively way. The archive, which may be used by some of the same groups that use the visitor center, is a more contemplative and honorific space. Here I began to use the idea of cubic forms ajoining together to form a mass of form and function. I developed a simple grid which then guided me to construct elegant plans and sections.

PS1 MoMa -45-
The site is the MoMA PS1 courtyard in Long Island City. It includes the triangular shaped area and the sculpture garden.That are the only areas that may be built upon (see aerial photograph). The approximate square footage of the buildable area is 16,700 SF. I was told to create an open place for the public to relax. My main focus was how to protect the public from the sun and rain. Simply I came up with a leaf like structure that would proctect and direct the public throughout the space.

This project was to examine the enclosures of buildings. Prada’s vertical surface, its presence as a barrier, is at the forefront of this study. Other vital issues such as order, structure, translucency, and opacity, are critical to begin to understand the role of Prada’s vertical surface. As well as its relationship to Prada’s planar spatial architectural program.

The PS1 Annex instructed me to develop studio space for a limited number of artists and/or collaborators with the ability to work various mediums at any given time. The design included organization of studio spaces shared with exhibition galleries, a small lecture auditorium, and cafe space offered for both fellow and community use. I created this building by studying its many focuses. I devloped its spaces by splitting up the public areas vs the private ones. The glass atrium located at the entry was built to help this idea. I wanted the building to be functional and appealing. So i created a skeleton like grid to encase it and act like a living structure. As you see the form grows from the left to right creating a lively effect. The slope of the building was created to help its presence appear to be more noticable to the public eye.

Community Ties Greenpoint Brooklyn
With the influx of residents there is a proposal to create a charter school. The main focus of this project was to create a space for both the students and surrounding community. The idea is to make a split school with the publicly used programs in one and the more educational programs in the other. The publicly used programs(auditorium,gymnasium) would be offered to the public at all times, creating a social place at night. The classrooms act as the “tie� of the two buildings. The rooms are arranged on an angle in order to get the best views of New York City.

This school demonstrates the importance of the students. The glass facade is the key piece to this project. The classrooms are situated in the front to get the best views the site has to offer, while also getting the best lighting. The glass face signifies the classrooms and their importance
