Kids School Holidays Activities

We’ve had some great activities for kids happening in the Easter and July school holidays with the highlight being the return of the BABBA Kids Show. 250 kids and parents were Dancing Queens & Kings at the Club and there were smiles everywhere as we reminisced the best of the ABBA tunes from the 80’s. We also screened the award winning documentary film ‘I Am Eleven’ by Melbourne film-maker, Genevieve Bailey to a room full of kids and parents with Q & A with Genevieve after the movie. See inside for more.

“The kids movie day at the Yarraville Club was fantastic! Our two kids had a great time, with the clown & the face painting both highlights.

It was fantastic idea which culminated in an equally fantastic evening. Being given the chance to ‘Show off’ our business’s to like minded people and be able to learn from one another is very important. Food was delicious and the service outstanding. Thank you again” Mia Locksley, Meander Melbourne Tours.

Michael will be supporting Ciaran and Fenella in maintaining the excellent level of service in the restaurant and functions area. Troy Doron has also joined as Head Chef pekish @ Yarraville. Troy’s fabulous organisational and culinary skills have already surpassed our expectations and we hope you can join us in making them both welcome. Watch the daily specials board closely for Troy’s subtle changes, and stay tuned for a new look menu in August 2013. Christmas in July has been a huge success with great group functions and catch ups enjoying traditional Christmas feasts with trimmings and special Santa appearances. Add it to your social calendar for next year – a great reason for a celebration with delicious food. Excellent value at pekish with Members calendar vouchers… Lots of people took advantage of our 20% off your total bill for lunch and dinner valid 7 days offer. Be sure to use your August voucher - 2 for 1 lunch valid Monday to Thursday, and the FREE bottle of house wine voucher. Check out your members calendar and book now (leave a message if restaurant is unattended and we’ll get right back to you).

Pekish forthcoming dates to consider: Sunday September 1st is Fathers Day - don’t leave it too late to book with your family for lunch or dinner with plenty pekish Dads favourites on the specials board. Saturday 28th September is Grand Final Day – keep the house clean and grab friends to watch the Grand Final at the Club with a FREE Gourmet BBQ, and room for the kids to play (book early to secure your bistro table). Tuesday 5th November – the cosiest place to watch the Melbourne Cup run, with another free gourmet BBQ for members. We extend our thanks to Yarraville Club Members for their continued support of Pekish @ Yarraville. Some of you may have experienced delays in securing tables on our busier sittings, and we encourage restaurant bookings to avoid disappointment on 9689 6033 or via www.yarravilleclub.com.au Pint sized pekish patrons. Out of genuine concern to the well being of your little ones, we would like to request all parents dining at pekish to please ask children to refrain from excessive noise or speed in the restaurant. We love that we can accommodate families and delight in offering the playground, but we must also respect the feedback from our members who have expressed concerns over potential accidents caused by children running or having bare feet in the restaurant.

Long time participant and committee member Henry Checutti was also made a Life Member of the Yarraville Snooker Club and much to his amazement, was presented with his shield on 23 July by the Snooker Club President, Colin Patterson. Following on from the Club competition was the Lance Pannell Classic with the winner, Adrian Ridley pictured with Warwick Swift, National Sales Manager of Victoria Mountain Springwater, the Major sponsor of the classic and runner-up, Hassan Kerde.
