The first key hurdle you need to get over is to follow instructions. To be a good leader you need to be a good follower and you can’t be a good follower if you don’t have enough sense to read the instructions and follow it to the letter. So your personal statement essay must focus on the key question. Now as narrow as these questions may seem they all lead to the same basic underlying question which is why should the MBA program that you’re applying to admit you instead of another person. This is where highlighting your reasons for taking an MBA program come in. You have to do it very delicately. You have to answer the question. For example the question is about how did you collaborate with other people to achieve a common goal, what role did you play and how did you manage to resolve conflicts. You can massage in your reasons for taking up the MBA but only if you are able to fit it in the lessons that you learned in terms of managing and collaborating.
