Pasto
The Surprise City
San Juan de Pasto is the capital city of the department of NariĂąo in the south of Colombia, besides being the head of the municipality of Pasto. The city has been administrative, cultural and religious center of the region from the time of the colony. The name of the municipality and of the city originates in the name of the indigenous people Pastos, Pas = people and to = land or people of the land, that inhabited the Valley of Atriz at the arrival of the Spanish conquerors. Pasto is a beautiful and welcoming small city located at south western Colombia, surrounded by spectacular and where art breathes everyday natural landscapes, and is a cheaper city. Pasto is very close to Ecuador country to which you can go visit a weekend and the people here will be so friendly with you!
Location Pasto (Colombia), officially San Juan de Pasto, is the capital of the department of NariĂąo, located in southern Colombia. The city is located in the "Atriz Valley", on the Andes cordillera, at the foot of the Galeras volcano, at an altitude of 8,290 feet (2,527 m) above sea level. The city has a population of approximately 500,000 inhabitants. Pasto is 18 hours (by bus) or 1 hour (by plane) from Bogota the capital of Colombia.

AIESEC Pasto & the SDGs
The SDGs, or Global Goals, are a universal set of goals, targets and indicators that UN member states will be expected to use to frame their agendas and political policies over the next 15 years. These goals aim to achieve three extraordinary things in the next 15 years: end extreme poverty, fight inequality and justice, and fix climate change. AIESEC in Pasto seeks with the realization of its different social projects to contribute to the change in the city, actively participating in the main problems that welcome this region of the country; But above all as we understand that young people are the key to contribute to the development of a better country and a better world.

Doctor Patch
The project seeks to generate spaces of social interaction focused on multiculturalism and the development of a more open global thinking in the patients of the city of Pasto. This project aims at the interaction by foreigners with clown recreational workshops that encourage them to continue fighting against their illness and to relax the patient through laughter therapy, using therapies in a group and individual manner, according to the Needs of the patient. Job Description: The intern will work with Childrens, adolescents adults, pregnant women and the elderly; who are receiving treatment in the hospital. Background: Medicine, psycology, physiotherapy, Nursing and others related to health.

PROYECTARTE
This project seeks to educate in life skills, emphasizing topics such as assertiveness, decision making, critical thinking, empathy, effective communication, among others, to achieve a future-oriented lifestyle among children And young people. The above will be achieved through multicultural spaces, talks, workshops and activities lĂşdico-practices where the attendees can generate reflections on the topics treated, giving them the opportunity, in addition to having a moment of relaxation where they know how other countries live daily . Job Description: The intern will work with Children who grow up in vulnerable environments or children with Down syndrome. Background: Education, psycology, art, Social work, among others.

This project seeks to educate all the people of the city in a second language, either in English or in protugues; So that more children and adolescents have access to better opportunities, this project is carried out as an accompaniment to the classes through workshops and activities that allow learning much easier the language.
Job Description: The intern have 3 options: will work with Children who grow up in vulnerable environments on a poor school, adolescents in academy of language and the last option is with young people in the university. Background: Education, teaching, Social work, among others. Duration: 6 weeks

Travel & Tourism
Pasto is one of the oldest cities of Colombia, located in the Atriz Valley, in the middle of the Mountain range of the Andes in the denominated mountainous bulk of the Pasto on the foot of Galeras volcano. The region is mountainous and surrounded by several indigenous towns.
Green Lagoon
Just an hour and a half by car from Pasto and another two hours walking you will find the green lagoon. Located in the crater of the Azufral volcano at 4,700 m.s.n.m, it is called that, due to the large sulfur mines of its depths, through which the lagoon turns emerald green. The lagoon has neither flora nor fauna. Its waters are not suitable for living beings. Its wealth is mining.

Las Lajas Church
Located in the municipality of Ipiales to 105 km (2 hours) of the city of Pasto. Its history narrates the appearance of the virgin on a stone of slab to a peasant woman; Built on the stone slab where the image of the Virgin Mary is located and in the middle of the canyon of the Guaitara River. Its architectural style is Gothic. The sanctuary of Las Lajas was declared the second wonder of Colombia in 2007. Activities: •

La Cocha Lagoon
It is the second largest lagoon in Colombia, the lagoon is only 40 minutes from Pasto. In the middle of this, rests the island Corota, where it is said that formerly it was a woman who became an island and sanctuary because of jealousy. Characterized by its lakeside homes which attracts tourists and sport fishermen for the beauty of the landscape and fishing for rainbow trout.

Tumaco Beach
Just 5 hours from Pasto you will find Tumaco. In Tumaco, although tourist activity is still under development, there are several points that may be of interest to visitors: the beaches "El Morro", "El Bajito" and "Bocagrande" and others that are close to the mouth of the Mira River , Such as "Milagros" or "Terรกn". Tumaco also has many cultural traditions, such as the Carnival of Fire, held a week before Easter; Or in December the Currulao Festival where folk groups from the entire Pacific of Colombia and Ecuador meet and compete with each other. Juanambu Canyon
Located in the foothills of the Andean Cordillera, where you will find one of the best and healthiest climates in the world. Let yourself be contagious in a unique environment, to your ears will come the singing of birds of different species and refreshing in the three natural therapeutic wells, fed by pure water from the La Moja stream. Wells acclimatized by the environment: the first is cold, because it is covered with trees typical of this region, the second is less covered and its waters warmer, and its surroundings enjoy the Juanambú beach where you will delight in the aroma of flowers in a Sand, nature and sun.
