I’m thankful for the riches of memory and the warmth and energy of shared recollections. I’m thankful for all the moments of ecstatic celebration I’ve shared with so many lovely individuals. I’m thankful for all those who have shared their genuine, authentic selves with me. I’m thankful for those who have put their trust in me. I’m thankful for those I can trust. I’m thankful for silence and the time to think and choose what has meaning. I’m thankful for books to get lost in. I’m thankful for the kindness of strangers - the immense joy and faith that comes out of random, unexpected encounters with strangers. I’m thankful for those who push me to be whole - to be honest - to be real. I’m thankful for the reverence we find in ourselves when confronted by the brutal beauty of nature. I’m thankful for the majesty of music that moves us to be more alive, and more aware of everything around us. I’m thankful for the stories that connect us all to each other - that connect the past, the present and the future. I’m thankful for every opportunity to be engaged with the world around me. I’m thankful for poetry: all of its meanings, all of its intentions, all of its treasures, all of its consolations.



I’m thankful for empathy in all of its forms. I’m thankful for momens of exquisite slowness and stillness. I’m thankful for the complexity and depth of memory. I’m thankful for disagreement and arguments - for the passion of thought and belief. I’m thankful for the grace that can be found everywhere. I’m thankful to be surrounded by friends. I’m thankful for difficulty and perseverance. I’m thankful for the music in our minds. I’m thankful for the crushing eloquence of certain sentences. I’m thankful for the intensity of certain profound sadnesses. I’m thankful for simple, anonymous kindness. I’m thankful for the force and vitality of change. I’m thankful for craft. I’m thankful for the paradoxes of identity. I’m thankful for shared meaning and participation. I’m thankful for long-term memory. I’m thankful for the treasures of language. I’m thankful for the ambiguity and messiness of meaning. I’m thankful for humility. I’m thankful for fragility and rarity.



I’m thankful for consequence and the things we learn from it. I’m thankful for all the varieties of presence available to us. I’m thankful for the infinite tones of light and shadow. I’m thankful for the failures and tragedies that give living its intricacies and its depths. I’m thankful for language and the magical powers it bestows upon us. I’m thankful for encouragement in all of the varied forms it is offered. I’m thankful for all the convergences we find in life - the connections and relationships that bind us together. I’m thankful for the potency of desire. I’m thankful for hope wherever it exists. I’m thankful for the smell and taste of each season. I’m thankful for the turning of the seasons and the cycle of time. I’m thankful for history that shines bright in our lives. I’m thankful for this place and its stories. I’m thankful for every opportunity to be alone with you. I’m thankful for the way we look at each other. I’m thankful for the bravery and courage of those around me. I’m thankful for conviction and purpose. I’m thankful for those who know how to listen. I’m thankful for vulnerability.



I’m thankful that each day is a mystery open to any number of possibilities. I’m thankful for the ongoing everlasting everything. I’m thankful for the books that are really about everything and about the truth that all things are connected. I’m thankful for the way a never-heard-before song can fall into your life and change forever the way you perceive the world. I’m thankful for the glow of intimate moments. I’m thankful for the ability to believe that anything is possible - that anything can be achieved. I’m thankful for the rewards of hard work and effort. I’m thankful for all these opportunities to behold beauty in its infinite forms of existence. I’m thankful for the capacity to be struck with awe and wonder. I’m thankful for the challenge of unanswerable questions. I’m thankful for stories that enlarge the world. I’m thankful for the infinite things that we can never really lose. I’m thankful for the sharing of wild ideas and contagious enthusiasm. I’m thankful for the nourishment of shared meals. I’m thankful for opportunities to be alone and for the restorativeness of solitude. I’m thankful for moments of relief and respite. I’m thankful for risk and peril, prospect and refuge. I’m thankful for loyalty that only burns brighter.

I’m thankful for the freedom and space of walking. I’m thankful for the responsibility we have for each other. I’m thankful for the promises we’ve made to each other. I’m thankful for spontaneity and the unexpected and surprise. I’m thankful for uncertainty. I’m thankful for moments of poetic clarity. I’m thankful that each of us is so different but that we’re all still alike in our shared humanity. I’m thankful for those times of boundless energy and optimism. I’m thankful for the chances to participate, I’m thankful for questions that lead to new stories and new awareness. I’m thankful for stories that weave it all together, I’m thankful for earnest creation. I’m thankful for sincere encounters. I’m thankful for the abundance of holy moments. I’m thankful for those who defend the small, the lost and the obscure. I’m thankful for unbreakable bonds. I’m thankful for dignity and poise.



I’m thankful for purity and elegance. I’m thankful for idiosyncrasies and peculiarities. I’m thankful for the mystical oneness of all things. I’m thankful for strangeness and oddity. I’m thankful for those who care for each other. I’m thankful for your laughter. I’m thankful for the charm of your eyes when you smile. I’m thankful for the frustration of finding truth and creating meaning. I’m thankful for the peace of melancholy weather, I’m thankful for the distances we’ve yet to travel. I’m thankful for radical and revolutionary thought. I’m thankful for the constantly changing colors of the world. I’m thankful for my sensing body and all the world’s phenomena. I’m thankful for the determination of those who believe. I’m thankful for loss and recovery. I’m thankful for the heartbreaking experiences that keep us human. I’m thankful for opportunities to be lost. I’m thankful for the exuberance of travel. I’m thankful for the shelter of unconditional love. I’m thankful for the ideas that fuel our imaginations.



I’m thankful for your mysteriousness. I’m thankful for the cheer that comes of simple things. I’m thankful for impermanence and decay. I’m thankful for all those who keep imagining. I’m thankful for the rebellious and outspoken. I’m thankful for shared exhilaration. I’m thankful for those moments of solemn awe. I’m thankful for respect. I’m thankful for those discoveries that reinforce and make real the connectedness of things. I’m thankful for genuine excitement and earnest goodwill. I’m thankful for collaboration - its challenges and its rewards. I’m thankful for times of grief and hurt. I’m thankful for those who have the anger and the will to affect change. I’m thankful that we know each other. I’m thankful for sudden, unexpected joy. I’m thankful for the drama of living and thinking and feeling. I’m thankful that adventure is always a possibility. I’m thankful we found each other. I’m thankful you believe in me. I’m thankful I ended up here.
