WILSON BILLBOARD Fun for all at Fall Weekend Stephanie St. Louis Staff Writer The weekend of September 17 through September 19 was Wilson College’s annual fall weekend, in which parents and the alumnae of the Class of 1949 were invited to come and celebrate the start of another school year. Some of the activities that were included were the students for a day, the Class of 1949 fountain dedication, an improv comedy, provided by the drama club, and an Odds/Evens basketball game. When parents came in on Friday, they had a chance to follow their daughters to their classes. They got to experience what it was like to belong to a college such as Wilson. From what students have been saying, their parents are really impressed on how well the school is kept up and running. The parents enjoyed being able to meet some of the professors and see what the students are learning. On Saturday afternoon, the alumnae from the Class of 1949 came for the dedication of the fountain they had given to the school and to reveal a newly

made plaque. The fountain is located on the esplanade outside of Lenfest Commons. On Saturday night, the drama club provided the students and parents with an improv comedy, based on the hit TV show “Whose Line is it Anyway?” The five students who had participated in the show made up the panel of people who would participate in the variety of games, with Michael Cornelius taking part as host (not to be confused with Drew Carey). Some of the games that took place in the hour long production were: Props, Helping Hands, TV Quirks, and Whose Line is it Anyway? On the same night, there was an evens versus odds basketball team. The even team consisted of freshmen and juniors. The odds were made up of sophomores and seniors. The evens won the game. Despite the fact that many girls had gone home for the weekend and quite a few of the international students had taken a weekend trip off-campus, Wilson’s Fall Weekend went really well.

to participate in Sarah Wilson Week. Upperclassmen had to ask permission of the underclassmen to permit them to kidnap those who wished to participate away. Some people felt that this change was adequate. “After the changes were made, it went well,” stated Sophomore transfer Theresa Mrenna. Others just didn’t participate altogether in Sarah Wilson Week. Freshman Erin Hartin said “I felt the whole thing was pretty pointless.” All in all, Sarah Wilson Week was an event that was slightly altered, but still enjoyable. Kos said that she took part in everything that was offered. “I thought the events held were a nice way to honor the traditions that were held so long ago.”
