FROST DELAY PROTACOL It is no secret that “frost delays” can be difficult and frustrating for everyone involved (maintenance, pro shop, and golfers). The maintenance staff is committed to keeping frost delays to a minimum, but our highest priority is to protect the golf course, which means Mother Nature has the final say. During these cold weather conditions please be aware that temporary greens or hole closures may be necessary to protect the golf course.
Hole 3 – A temporary green may be in use on the approach where golfers will receive a guaranteed two putt. Hole 15 – This hole may be closed and will guarantee golfers a net par.
Below are the guidelines we will strive to follow in the event of a frost delay: 1) Check temperature on golf course weather station immediately upon arrival to determine extent of frost. If temperature is borderline for frost (35F or higher) check holes 3-8 quickly before making a decision, otherwise:
Below 25F – Delay until 12:00pm (Shotgun) 26-30F – Delay until 11:00am (Shotgun) 31-34F – Delay until 10:00am (Shotgun) 35F or Higher – inspect course conditions, possibility of delayed tee times until 9:00am.
2) The Driving Range and Practice Green will open approximately 1 hour to adjusted start times.
