Audrey Powell, C.M.T. Winchester Country Club welcomes Audrey to our Lifestyle department. Her specialties are: Neurokinetic Therapy® Certified, Level I and II Sports Massage, Certified Myofascial Release, Certified Deep Tissue, Certified Swedish Massage, Certified Coming June 2017: AromaTouch Therapy Why Therapeutic Massage at WCC? -You will improve range of motion, reduce muscle pain, and add strength to your daily activities. Golfers have a unique movement that requires the kinetic chain to flow from ankles, hips, back, shoulders and neck for that perfect swing and connection. When there is congestion in any area, manual therapy can clear those restrictions to empower your movement. -You can relax distraction-free. We have peaceful room, away from the ringing telephone and the constant “to do list” and distractions that keep us scurrying at home. -Neurokinetic Therapy allows her to find patterns of inhibition related to facilitated muscles using biofeedback/gentle muscle testing. Audrey enjoys teaching you about your body, why it may hurt, and how to move freely again. -Essential oil is complimentary with each session and personalized to your specific needs. You are invited to a one-time special introductory 30 minute session for $45. Sessions are $90.00 for one hour, billed to member account. Appointments made directly with Audrey Powell, C.M.T. 530.305.9472 Feel the difference. Breathe easier. Move better.

Agronomy Update Greetings from the Agronomy Team, In an effort to provide more uniform playing conditions we have begun turfgrass conversion trials on holes 2, 7, and 11. On these holes you will notice portions of the rough and approaches have been mowed at a low height. Ryegrass, our desired turf type, has been contaminated by both bentgrass and Poa annua in many locations. Bentgrass, at our normal 2 rough height, provides very difficult playing conditions particularly when chipping from the green surround. Our goal during these trials is to implement a variety of conversion strategies and determine the best practices to transform these areas into ryegrass, while minimizing the impact to play. Please be aware that the conversion will take approximately 8 weeks to complete. As part of the trial we will seed a new variety of ryegrass with characteristics that should help to reduce bentgrass and Poa annua populations going forward. We are starting conversions in the green surrounds to enhance playing conditions, but also to slow the intrusion of Poa annua onto our recently resurfaced bentgrass putting greens. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we go through the process and we look forward to seeing you out on the course as the spring weather rolls in!

Daniel Cruse Golf Course Superintendent
