Dear Winchester Country Club Members, Happy Holidays from the Club! I am honored to be the General Manager of the Club and to be able to work with an amazing staff. Our ownership group is committed to improving all aspects of the Club, as seen by the many improvements during this year. Since May 1st we have added over 50 new members to the Club and interest in the Club remains at a high level. Much of this success in attracting new members is due to our Membership Director, Amber Shinn. In the latter part of the summer we moved Amber’s office from the Golf Shop to the Sales Office on the main level of the Clubhouse to enhance membership visibility and access. Our efforts at attracting new members will continue as we strive to fill out our membership quota. Inside of the Club there have been many improvements: new flooring in the entry, new carpet in the Main Dining Room, and painting of the entire first level and the Pub during the summer. Roof repairs were also completed this fall. Our Food & Beverage Team (Chef Brian Coe, Food & Beverage Manager- Kevin Goleman and Operations Manager - TJ Scott) are committed to continual improvement as seen by the many offerings this year. We will continue to bring you value-based offerings as well as specialized events that offer a wide range of opportunities. We saw a quartet from the Auburn Symphony play at the Club this summer along with new events such as Trivia night. Our Golf Shop staff led by Head Golf Professional, Kirby Lee, continues to improve our golf events with more oversight. As we transition into next year, we will be adding Golf Shop staff to provide enhanced service to our members. On Thursday, December 5th we will be having our annual Sip and Shop at the Golf Shop. This will take place 4-7 pm with wine and champagne along with great appetizers. Stop by for your opportunity to get a 5-100% discount on your purchase that is already discounted 20%. This summer saw a change in the leadership of our Fitness and Lifestyle Department with the welcome addition of Bryan Twardus. Bryan is full of energy and under his short term as leader of this department, we have added more and varied fitness classes and outings with more to come. We also saw a change in leadership in our Agronomy Department. Jason Conrad came to us this spring from Monterey Peninsula Country Club. Jason and his team have worked hard to improve playing conditions since the summer heat has departed. You will continue to see many changes in cultural practices throughout the remainder of the year and into next year. This will include aeration of the entire course multiple times during the year. While some of these practices are disruptive, they will produce positive, long-term results. Early this fall the rear tee on the driving range was sodded with Bermuda grass.to provide a long-lasting surface for practice. More improvements to the driving range will be coming next year. Jason will continue to use creative agronomic practices, such as the greens aeration used this fall, to produce high-quality playing conditions. As I mentioned this summer, we will be forming two advisory committees within the Club. The first is the “House/Activities Committee” and the second is the “Golf/Green Committee”. Both will start in January. The size will be limited the first year and will increase in the second year. I anticipate each will meet 6-8 times a

year without a significant time commitment. If you are interested in serving on either, please send me a short email with your interest. pfinlen@winchestercountryclub.com At this time of the year, the Club solicits our members for contributions to the Employee Holiday Fund. This is your opportunity to acknowledge and thank our nearly 60 team members from all departments who work to make your experience at the Club as enjoyable as possible. This fund excludes managers who are department leaders. There is no set amount to contribute. A commonly-used guidance would be a contribution equivalent to one month’s dues. We have been asked by members to report on some statistics for the Employee Holiday Fund: Last year 43% of our members participated. The following list shows the various levels of contributions last year. Amount > $1,000 $500 - $1,000 $100 - $499 <$100

I want to recognize and thank the many members who have been so generous over the years. As always, you are under no obligation to contribute. Our Controller, Laurie Sweeney, who I have not mentioned yet and does an outstanding job at keeping all of your accounts accurate, will be managing the Holiday Fund. Contributions are confidential, known only by Laurie. Whatever amount you contribute will be much appreciated by our staff. To take part, you may choose to have your member account charged and pay on your next statement. You also have the option to pay by check or credit card directly. Using the attached form, please indicate your preference and return to Laurie Sweeney via email, lsweeney@winchestercountryclub.com, or by fax at 530.878.9515. For your convenience, we will also be sending this letter via mail so you can return via mail or drop off at the Club if that works better. If you have any questions, please feel free to call either myself or Laurie Sweeney at 530.878.3000. So that we may distribute the funds to our team in time for the holiday season, we ask that all contributions be returned by November 30, 2019. Once again, thank you for your continued support of Winchester. It has been an exciting year, and we are looking forward to the upcoming year. On behalf of the Winchester family, we wish you and yours a safe holiday season filled with joy and a fantastic start to what will be a great New Year. Season’s Greetings and Happy New Year!
