With just 1 defeat in the league at the time of going to press, and still going strong in the FA Cup, Winchester City had a dream start to the season, just months after handing back the keys to their ground. more >>> back page The joy of having a proper summer is making a lot of people very happy. Not only have we experienced an Indian Summer with some days in early September reaching 27 Celsius, but our morale and health are both benefiting too.

Anyone who knows Mike Carson (Pictured right) will know that he loves many things: his family, his church, his friends - and Chunky KitKats straight from the fridge. There are also two other great passions in his life: leadership and football.

The front cover is dominated by brooding images of Arsène Wenger, José Mourinho and Sir Alex Ferguson in deep thought: “If you can lead in football, you can lead anywhere,” Mike tells me. “I felt the cohort of past and present managers have something to say.”
