OUTLINE SCOPE OF WORK – $11.2 M OPTION Part 1 – Demolition a. D-wing (13,405 sf) and E-wing (12,530 sf) open classroom areas (does not include Library): Demolish all interior partitions, movable partitions, suspended ceilings, floor finishes, mechanical, electrical and plumbing leaving only floor slab and exterior envelope construction. Part 2 – Renovations a. Roof Replacement: i. Remove existing membrane and insulation down to the deck. Provide new tapered roof insulation (R-40 avg) over entire membrane roof areas (does not include modular classrooms) 116,530 sq. ft. ii. Replace existing membrane roofing with new fully adhered white EPDM roofing – 123,200 sq. ft. (entire building and modular trailers). iii. Add 6 new roof drains iv. Repair masonry and roof blocking at perimeter of 1967 roof b. 1967 Window Replacement Only: v. Replace all large windows in 1967 portion of building with high performance doublepane low-e aluminum thermal curtain wall system –39 openings vi. Replace all small windows in 1967 portion of building with high performance double-pane low-e windows –4 openings c. Structural vii. Reinforce roof structure of 1967 wing around gym to accommodate potential snow drifting viii. Reinforce roof beam supporting folding partition at large gym ix. Provide structural reinforcement at new rooftop mechanical unit locations d. Architectural x. Provide new walls, doors, and finishes in D&E wings to accommodate new layout of classrooms. This includes, flooring, painting, ceilings, marker boards, tackboards, casework, etc. e. Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Lighting and Fire Alarm Upgrades at D & E Wings Only: i. Mechanical a. Remove existing Air Handling Units (AHU) from D-wing, E-wings. Provide new efficient AHUs on roof. Provide new ductwork throughout. b. Provide displacement ventilation and new fin-tube radiation through D and E Classroom wings c. Perform a more in depth evaluation the heating system in the south end of the 1967 portion of the school to determine the cause for the lack of heat d. Add corridor ventilation in D&E wings. This can be accomplished by new roof top heat recovery units Dore & Whittier Architects, Inc.

Plumbing a. Replace domestic water piping in 1967 (D & E wings only)portion of building b. Add a backflow preventer and pressure reducing valve to the existing domestic water entrance c. Provide plumbing related to 6 new roof drains d. Provide new water-saving plumbing fixtures in D & E wing renovation area.
iii.
Electrical a. Replace the electrical distribution from the switch gear to the existing panels that are original 1967 equipment (for any work related to new work in D & E wings) b. Replace the older panels and breakers that are original to the 1967 construction (D&E wing related work only). Provide additional circuits and spare capacity in these replacement panels c. Provide dual level switching, occupancy sensors and daylight sensors for maximized energy efficiency and comfort level in rooms where they have not been installed (D& E wings only). Lighting and controls should meet ASHRAE/IES STANDARD 0.1 and the 2011 Vermont Commercial Building Energy Standards for energy efficiency. d. Remove the old lighting Inverters and install new emergency and exit lighting in the 1967 (D&E wing only) e. Install emergency egress lighting at all exits f. Provide adequate emergency lighting in the 1967 classroom wings g. Replace the classroom fixtures to more efficient fixtures (D&E wing only) h. Replace all outlets and switches in the 1967 portions of the school (D&E wing only) i. Replace the outlets in the mechanical room, and electrical rooms (affected by work in D&E wing only)with GFI outlets j. Add receptacles and circuits in the classroom areas to eliminate the extension cords and provide power to laptop computer charging carts (D&E wing only) k. Remove the Romex wiring in the Janitor’s closet l. Provide a hardwired VGA jack for the teacher’s computers to connect with the classroom projectors (D&E wing only) m. Replace all existing Cat. 3 phone cabling in the old portions of the school with new Cat. 5e or Cat. 6 cabling so that the phones can use the voice-over-IP throughout the school (D&E wing only) n. Install a data fiber hub and patch panel in the D-Wing and E-Wing o. Add a few cameras to the existing system to adequately cover all entrances and the driveway (Add Alternate) p. Replace Simplex clock and bell system (D&E wing only)
iv.
Fire Alarm a. Replace the entire fire alarm system (1967 and 1991 areas) and install a new addressable fire alarm system that meets all current life safety and ADA code. Dore & Whittier Architects, Inc.
