2.3 Give a brief description about the most valuable moment/experience in your AIESEC career so far. Explain why you hold that valuable and what you have learnt from that?

I was thrilled when I received the award of “ MOST INNOVATIVE MEMBER ” during the event where I was impressed and felt so much proud of my AIESEC career. That is why I felt it even more VALUABLE. It was the best team experience I have ever had in my life, with a set of individuals who eventually became a family and never left a day without laughter in between so much of planning the event and executing them. With the guidance I had from my Team leaders and my VPs, I have developed a lot in my personality. They all have motivated me and kept me pumped up for the rest of the term. Although the whole term had been a virtual journey, I have developed so much of my key areas, which I have lacked before joining AIESEC. I will always hold my saying of, “AIESEC was a Blessing for me, and it will be a blessing for You as well.” throughout my life.

AIESEC EXPERIENCE

CS Eminence - The most valuable and memorable AIESEC experience is being the OCVP – PR & Platforms of CS Eminence 2020, where I have achieved my highest level of appreciation in my AIESEC career. After applications were opened for the most significant internal events of AIESEC in CS, CS EMINENCE & LEAD CS, I was so excited to apply for the OC of one of those events as I thought it would be a great experience for my AIESEC career. After being selected as the OCVP for PR & Platforms in CS Eminence, I was so thrilled to witness the new experience. I would say term 20/21 turned out to be the most unexpected as it turned upside down with the pandemic. Because of that, we were not able to hold the event physically. But the whole OC of CS Eminence and EB of AIESEC in CS have managed to gather into one place to make the event more interactive and exciting. Lots of excitement was there from the beginning to the end of the event, which was way more successful than we thought. The synergy we had throughout the event was an excellent experience for me. At the same time, I have gained lots of new platforms and technology-based knowledge where we handled so many pressure situations that often pop up in an online event.

GENERAL QUESTIONNAIRE

3.1 Personal

3.1.1 What drives you to continue in AIESEC? What motivated you to apply for the position of Local Committee Vice President. AIESEC gives the term 'leadership' a real meaning and guides the younger generation to a whole extra dimension. I enjoyed my AIESEC experience so far. In the early stage of my AIESEC career, I saw the synergy between AIESECers and the rewarding leadership they have developed through AIESEC. I wanted to grab that treasure which a true AIESECer possesses and add that as a remedy to cure my empty spaces in personality. That drives me to continue this new adventure of being an AIESECer, which helps me be more optimistic throughout the time. AIESEC helped me see that I'm not alone at anything that I have done during my AIESEC career so far. Instead, it showed that being an AIESECer truly means that you have landed on a new family with lots of supporters to grow your personality. Moreover, I want to develop myself furthermore, improve my AIESEC knowledge and personality by learning how to deal with even more responsibilities. In return for all these opportunities, now it is my turn to grab the tremendous opportunity that AIESEC offers to gain one of the most responsible positions for an AIESECer to become. Nevertheless, it will allow me to empower the youth to shape up and develop their personalities and become the person whom they seek in themselves. Ultimately, I received one of the general awards which is being the Most Innovative Member for the term 20/21.

9 7

3.1.2 What do you aspire to become through AIESEC and what can AIESEC be through you? From my childhood, I had the vision of becoming an engineer someday.

GENERAL QUESTIONNAIRE

Richard Bach once wrote,

You are never given a dream without also being given the power to make it come true. You may have to work for it, however

The more you give to AIESEC , the more you get back THROUGH ME, AIESEC can become THE movement that defines our generation’s future by giving the younger generation a chance to discover their true power and unique identity and identify the boundaries that can be stretched and develop. I am trying my best to bring innovative ideas to the organization, driving the existing features to youngsters with improvements. Ultimately, THOUGH ME AIESEC can motivate the youth to shine in front of a professional audience with the outstanding personality gained through AIESEC.

To be honest, I do not want to be an engineer who knows only the technical side. Instead, I always preferred to become a more responsible person who has both knowledge and an outstanding personality. Working in AIESEC for the past year while going through different leadership opportunities made me realize that AIESEC really helps me achieve those qualities I have been seeking for a long time. Moreover, it ASPIRES to believe in me and understand more about myself in everyday life through AIESEC. So, I always ASPIRE to keep learning and practice leadership while being optimistic. Most importantly, I ASPIRE to continue impacting & inspiring everyone that I meet in my life. Comparing with leadership, it is straightforward to differentiate an ordinary person from an AIESECer. THROUGH ME, AIESEC can truly challenge anyone how young people define leadership as I have developed a lot because of AIESEC.

10 8 7

3.1.3 Explain about one of your biggest achievements and a biggest failure. Explain your learning from these and how you have integrated it into your day-to-day life.

GENERAL QUESTIONNAIRE

Getting Selected to the most prominent Technical University of Sri Lanka is the sole dream of mine from the beginning. From an early age, I have always been deeply interested in computing and technical aspects. So, without a second thought, getting selected to the University of Moratuwa, specifically to the Computer Science and Engineering Department, was the most valuable and most significant achievement that I had in my life so far. I have worked a lot harder in my A/L examination and achieved the pathway to my goal being District 1st and Island 13th from Physical Stream. Without a doubt, this spotlighted me that working hard towards one goal with proper time management makes a person achieve a goal with excellence. Even today, I always keep small targets on everything, so I will always be happy at every checkpoint that I am passing by. Nevertheless, I always tend to manage my time effectively as an undergraduate to balance my academic life with my personal life.

Thinking about the most significant failures of mine, there is a recent breakdown that I had experienced when I was working on a client project related to web development. I managed a project where a new client wanted to redesign their website to maximize user experience and search functionality performance. Because they were a new client and I wanted to impress them with the kind of results I could produce, I assured them we could have it back to them in two weeks. I thought this was doable with full time working on the project, but in the end, it took an extra week, and they were not happy. I apologized and reassured them that the mistake wouldn’t happen again. I realized that it’s far better to UNDER-PROMISE and OVER-DELIVER. The client will not be upset when you are clear about what the timeline is from the beginning. Problems arise when you can’t meet promised deadlines. I used this experience to be more cautious in managing client expectations, and from the next project onwards, I included extra time for unforeseen circumstances. 14 11 7

3.2 Team Culture 3.2.1 Explain your definition of a team and describe how do you want your ideal team to be in terms of culture, trust, performance and work ethic.

GENERAL QUESTIONNAIRE

From my perspective, a team is a group of members who perform interdependent tasks collaboratively with a team leader's guidance to accomplish a joint mission or a specific aim within a time duration. It needs to go through some phases like building, performing, and closing in order to successfully achieve the team aim for a team. In contrast, the team leader needs to assign correct roles to the most suited person and delegate the work equally while ensuring that everyone gets equivalent responsibility without any extra pressure on specific ones. With the knowledge and experience that I have gained while being a team member, I always prefer some aspects to be unique where every team member expects. Every time I was assigned as a team leader, I try to deliver those aspects in any possible way. Culture : The ethical culture of teams within an organization can differ from each other, and also, different team ethical cultures within one organization can lead to different outcomes. So in terms of culture, I firmly believe that having a good culture inside a team will output better results as team members' attitude and behaviours thoroughly depend on that. With a good team culture, aspects like decision making, strategic plan and innovation will be highly improvised. Trust : As I mentioned above, the initial phase of BUILDING needed to improve the TRUST, which I mostly prefer in a team. I have always tried to monitor and expand the trusteeship between members as it is a strong KPI that measures a project's success. The safety that every team member expects which will positively enlighten their true potential of working can be caught through proper TRUST. That makes everyone feel comfortable to open up and take appropriate risks to dive into success. Performance : As I mentioned above, the PERFORMING stage is the base where you spotlight each member's true progress. High performance can only be achieved through knowing who does what at best and through coaching them. I highly recommend regular team meetings and one-to-one meetings, which is crucial in enhancing members' performance. Work Ethic : Considering AIESEC, WORK ETHIC is highly prioritized as every member is working in a highly productive environment which highly spotlights professionalism. But members also need to be more productive to play their assigned role with effective teamwork and cooperation. I prefer to have a strong determination towards success and always expect consistent quality work.

17 12

3.2.2 How would you illustrate the connection between the Executive Board and the performance of the Local Committee and what qualities the Executive Board members should showcase for the betterment of it.

GENERAL QUESTIONNAIRE

is the Local Committee's backbone, which provides authentic leadership that guides the LC towards its success. The executive board is chosen once a year, and on an LC level, consists of the LCP and the related LCVPs for different functional areas (DXP/PM/OGX/BD...). In other words, EB is crucial for implementing tactical strategies in every function of the front office and back office, which primarily becomes the STRATEGIC-FACTORY of a Local Committee. The goal of success within a local committee is tightly coupled with the EB as it creates the roadmap to excellence and covers up every checkpoint on its way to success with tactical collaboration. All the board members should outline their work on their specific functional Job Descriptions to proper functioning of the Local Committee. The BETTERMENT of an LC mostly depends on the year plan and tactical strategies that EB members implement. I strongly believe that EB members need to be more responsible in identifying the necessary requirements collaboratively for the success of LC, depending on the period. Every EB member should be humble to each other to mitigate any misunderstandings between the front office and back office as everything is cross-functional. At the same time, EB members should have to adapt to the AIESEC standards and understand the dynamic nature of AIESEC to compete with other LCs and gain the TIARA.

21 13

3.2.3 Explain the key factors which make CS AIESECers stand out from the others in excellence, spirit and values and how you can utilize that for the process of building a better organizational culture and what initiatives you would suggest to improve those further. After I was recruited to AIESEC in Colombo South a year ago, it has been a place where I felt something new despite the stressful

GENERAL QUESTIONNAIRE

academic life I had over the past years. As a CS AIESECer, I have always been asked to grab the new opportunities that AIESEC is popping out every day for their members. I witnessed a whole new level of experience that I hadn’t seen before from all those opportunities that I captured. I wanted to highlight some secret recipe that every team leader in AIESEC in CS possesses to make the membership stand out from the others in EXCELLENCE. Membership opens up to innovative ideas as leaders of CS are mitigating hierarchical gaps within their membership. I think that is WHY AIESEC in CS received the LIMITLESS LC AWARD in the APLS Award ceremony last year. Anyone who had been at that moment can see the excitement that AIESEC in CS had, which most LCs lacked. That SPIRIT is truly striving through the beloved membership.

“ This award definitely belongs to the beloved membership of AIESEC in Colombo SOUTH. I personally believe that they are the best membership that any lcp can ever ask for.” L

Pi m u t A SE in S

Without a doubt, CS AIESECers are trying their best to be the best possible character that they can be through AIESEC all the time. Becoming the best personality in an extremely competitive leadership environment is not something that everyone could do. With the VALUES that CS AIESECers processes, they always strive to be the best among other leadership. With a significant membership, it is effortless to achieve anything beyond the limit. Expectations, experiences, philosophy and values which are thriving to build an organization CULTURE can be easily extracted through this kind of membership. Furthermore, I would suggest that we need to host more events like PATHFINDER and THINKWAVE to our beloved membership and empower them to find more strategies to be more productive and solution-oriented in the pandemic situation. 26 14

3.3 AIESEC & External Awareness 3.3.1 What does AIESEC mean to you? Explain the relevance of AIESEC with the current context of Sri Lanka.

GENERAL QUESTIONNAIRE

I can proudly say that I am an AIESECer, and TO ME, AIESEC is a blessing that not everyone destined to GAIN during their youth. It has changed my life and how I see the world through being an active volunteer for the past year. I was applying for every opportunity as it mediates me to get the most out of my student experience. TO ME, AIESEC is pure enthusiasm and passion. I never wanted to work on something for the sake of position. Instead, being in AIESEC made me realize that I only unleash my true potential when I work on something passionate about me. TO ME, AIESEC is the remedy that revamps me to my advanced version of being a solution-oriented person.

Considering the current context of Sri Lanka, anyone cannot unseen the bottlenecks in our country's development process, such as The Impact of Rural Electrification, deforestation and poor waste management, mainly because of dishonest and poor leadership, which is also a significant crisis in Sri Lanka. AIESEC brings back creative project ideas like EARTH, SWITCH OFF for these obstructions to improve those areas up to some extent. These virtual engagement activities that AIESEC organizes enhance qualities such as organizing & teamwork skills inside undergraduates, which moulds through proper guidance.

3.3.2 Briefly explain on how the AIESEC 2025 Midterm Direction is relevant for AIESEC in Colombo South.

GENERAL QUESTIONNAIRE

The novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak is a cause for uncertainty, forcing us to rethink and revamp various aspects of AIESEC. It paves the way to establish different kinds of long-term partnerships and change operational sustainability plans. AIESEC has downscaled the ultimate purpose for the next five years for the Membership as a roadmap that ensures strategic focus and connection of several elements. In short A2025 means Ensuring quality of all leadership experiences delivered, financial sustainability, good membership experiences and activities aiming at providing excellent service to our partners.Evaluating the statements of A2025, the following are quite prominent and impactful for AIESEC in Colombo South Partnerships are crucial for an LC's success and in my opinion when it is along with 360-degree feedback, can skyrocket AIESEC CS to great heights. To make a substantial impact on everything we are doing, partners are vital. It highlights in situations like IR partnerships, B2B partnerships, BD partnerships and PR partnerships which involves a shared vision and a commitment to bring real and sustainable benefits to AIESEC CS. Functional strategies need to be implemented in the long run as a critical touchpoint in both the short term and long term to engage with these partners in different aspects. AIESEC CS essence depends on tracking these deliverables systematically so that we can ensure long-term partnerships. 40 16

GENERAL QUESTIONNAIRE

When operations are PURPOSE driven rather than TASK driven, it will surely help the LC grow beyond the limits, which is a key feature I saw in the long term. The pathway of SUSTAINABILITY for AIESEC in CS highly depends on this and functional strategies that EB implements and needs to seek new membership values through the programs we offer. Tactical implementation of this direction needs to involve our Membership to take different roles and train their peers to work collectively for AIESEC in CS to strive. As I mentioned earlier, building an excellent organizational culture will ensure this sustainability is built within our LC. Roadmap answers to strategic focuses and ensures connection of all elements of A2025. Therefore, aligning the entity strategies with the roadmap will help in achieving what we want by developing a strong recovery plan to face the post-Covid world in term 2021.22.

40 17

3.3.3 What are the possible opportunities for the coming term that we can capitalize on both in our front office and back office operations?

Virtuality became the ultimate truth in the current situation where remote working became the primary source of continuation, even in the most prominent companies who thrive hard to build their product. After all, this pandemic brought us new doorways to grab great opportunities on the iGT and oGT functions of FRONT OFFICE. By building further B2B partnerships and IR partnerships , we can create more spaces for EPs and Companies that we can promote remote and semi-remote workings and Online Teaching Opportunities through online platforms. Similarly, with the post covid opportunities, unemployed graduates can benefit through digitalization and will be a perfect match for oGTa and oGTe products of FRONT OFFICE.

Nobody knows the end of this COVID CURSE, but I believe that youth will be still eager to witness new experiences in their lives. Nevertheless, we can also strive to achieve physical exchanges, although it is quite hard to handle these days using recent digital transformation. BACK OFFICE functions like DXP and MARKETING can work collaboratively to grab the public audience’s attention to organize online campaigns to promote these oGX functions to get more sign ups that can be utilized for realizations when the situation is feasible. Additionally, this results in brand awareness for new stakeholders. Ultimately, we can partner up with potential companies with the collaboration of BACK OFFICE BD and GTa and GTe to partner up with potential educational institutes which are having good CV pools to get out of the restrictions that will be later utilized for the growth of B2B partnerships. 34 18

GENERAL QUESTIONNAIRE

The novel coronavirus epidemiology as a “super‐spreader” of the infectious disease leads to exposure of fundamental weaknesses in various fields. However, there are several opportunities to reimagine what is feasible and desirable for the future in an attempt to confront its multiple consequences with the sped-up pace of digital transformation. Moving forward with uncertainty but keeping a backup plan in every possible way ensures our products’ safety as an LC. I believe that with physical distancing, there is a higher possibility of enduring a lack of operational practicals in some functions, which will also be a massive challenge for our PRODUCTS. AIESEC CS, which is always seeking adoption, can use the remote working experience and digital transformation to strive for the title Endeavour To Excel again in the coming term.

GENERAL QUESTIONNAIRE

Valuable sessions and consultancy spaces conducted by the LC for proper AIESEC knowledge and personality development Many new opportunities are popping out, like Organizing Committee roles, LB & Team Leader for projects, which unleash members' true potential. Lack of members count in specific functions and communication between members, and TLs are also significantly deprived. Absence of many long term sustainable partnerships. Lack of transparency and interaction between members of different functions.

THREATS ● ● ●

Not having any physical engagement makes the organization less interactive Being limited to virtual context restricted the scope of functionality of some functions. COVID-19 pandemic hibernates some functions' work process to a great extent due to safety measures. 19 31

4. SPECIFIC QUESTIONNAIRE 4.1. How would you synergize with LCVP Marketing in terms of managing content and platforms? Staying true to the AIESEC Vision “Peace and fulfillment of humankind’s potential,” showcasing the essence of AIESEC through storytelling would create not only authentic experience sharing but also build communities that engage. Maintaining the brand tone with a structured content creation pattern, visual guidelines, and a strategic plan is vital in staying true to our brand voice and highlighting our value delivery and impact. Both the Marketing and DXP side needs to closely collaborate for the proper functioning of campaigns that will awaken the VOLUNTEERING EYE of youth. As of the pandemic, everything is mostly going to be steering through digital platforms other than physically. Everything could be significantly acquired through separate functioning, although some are tightly coupled to each other. So, for the proper functioning of DXP and Marketing Side, we need a BETTER SYNERGY from both DXP VP and Marketing VP. Although some JDs are related to specific ones, the sole objective of SHOWCASE OUR PRODUCTS IN FRONT OF A POTENTIAL AUDIENCE only be gained through proper synergy between both VPs. The front end of AIESEC is the FRONT OFFICE where we mainly have our products. So both iCX and oGX promotional campaigns need to be given priority at the same rate, although they are mainly done through separate VPs. For the more platform background, Marketing VP can always rely on DXP VP and equally for more brand and content creation. DXP VP can have faith on Marketing VP. Ultimately, both will need all these synergies within themselves, although they are a bit separated. 20 22

4.2. What are the top three strategies you would implement to increase the Digital Reach of our LC on our national platforms?

Posting more distinct eye-catching oGX and iCX contents with proper brandings regularly.

1

● ● ● ●

SPECIFIC QUESTIONNAIRE

Consistency is the key fact when it comes to build social media reach and sustaining. To maintain consistency, we need to post and upload proper branding content regularly through national platforms. We can showcase the commitment towards the product promotion of our LC to increase its reach. As national platforms are centralized, it is quite easy for us to showcase our LC brand despite the fact that several other competitive LCs also trying their best to regain their Digital Reach. Following strategies can be applicable to improvise the digital reach of our LC.

Flyers, and small videos on customer funnel-specific checkpoints. ( oGV destinations and oGT company environments ) Using the right hashtags and using Instagram STORIES feature correctly will lead to an increase of LC reach up to a great height. Simultaneously, critical points like SEO and best public traffic time to post contents should also be given some priority. With experience and consistency, we can unleash many content posting tips and tricks to increase the view count and marketing tempo. Using Podio for real-time content and mold exciting content to post on social media platforms. 21 8

2

Hosting more digital ewA events regarded to leadership development and current trends with famous personalities

3

Publishing professional websites regarding various oGX product campaigns and ewA events

SPECIFIC QUESTIONNAIRE

During the Events interaction, the audience should be highly synergized and need to showcase the AIESEC CS Brand through engagement. As the best entity in AP region, we need to focus on these things as part of our VALUE DELIVERY. Even the most-viewed events in the AIESEC Sri Lanka Facebook page are from our entity, one of the most promotional and cross-posted event which is the PATHFINDER. And also with great partnerships we can host more events like as well.

We need to utilize the maximum use of the official webpage of AIESEC in Sri Lanka which is aiesec.lk , to showcase our LC brand to the whole world as websites are the base of DXP. We can showcase the professionalism and proper branding of our LC to increase our reach by creating web pages for the MOST NEEDED events and campaigns. Also, allocating sections like OUR PARTNERS will be for the deliverables and partnerships and take our brand to the business level, including high-end companies. Specially, we must prioritize aspects like SEO and CTA when building these web pages to maximize our reach. 22 26 14

4.3. Which national platform would you focus on for each of the oGX product promotions in Term 21.22?

FACEBOOK

YouTube is the most trending platform for content makers and even for vloggers. Even though we have not given priority to YouTube, it has become an income for most people. We can post ewA events, roll calls, and many more promotional videos on YouTube, exciting videos for the YouTube audience. We can also utilize YouTube Stories and Going Live features to have more impact on our oGX products.

LINKEDIN

SPECIFIC QUESTIONNAIRE

Facebook

Facebook is the most usable platform of the public community these days. It will probably be the most trending platform that we can use in the next term if no other trending platforms were coming into action. Through Facebook Sri Lanka Page, we can showcase our oGV products promotions directly if the content is up to brandings and professional standards. We can majorly showcase EP experience sharing videos on both oGT and oGV. We can also post some promotional videos with MC’s approval, which has the concepts like “ Find your volunteer experience/intern with us. ” if those videos are up to standards.

YOUTUBE

LinkedIn is the most used platform by professionals. Specially one can showcase their excellence through various parameters present in LinkedIn. This can be prioritized for oGTa and oGTe which seeks graduates and undergraduates with good CV pools. Through LinkedIn, we can seek the transparency we seek in oGT to aim precisely to the professional audience who are eager to grab internship opportunities. At the same time, we can find products for oGV and the newly implemented features like LinkedIn Stories.

4.4. What kind of a synergy is needed for the DXP VP with the oGX VPs.

The Synergy between DXP VP and oGX VPs will take place in three main stages: 1. Proper Content creation to promote oGV and oGV in the initial stage of attraction in Customer Funnel 2. Content collection & creation during Exchanges (The experience stage) – mainly through content approval via oGX VPs 3. Content collection and creation once the EP comes back and they can be used for future marketing purposes for

SPECIFIC QUESTIONNAIRE

For any organization to run sustainably, public support is always needed. Aiesec also needs to create public awareness for running its functions smoothly. For outgoing Exchanges, B2B and B2C , public awareness should be done by hosting various ewA events. For partnership development for oGX products, we need to make the public aware of the trustworthy AIESEC brand.

For these, mainly DXP VP needs to be synergized with the oGX VPs. Most importantly, DXP and Marketing is a mediator where the oGX product development is going through. With the help of oGX B2C VPs we can enhance the Digital Sign Ups through proper analysis of platforms and various other Eps information management. For the Customer Flow to be synergized with the Exchange Standards DXP can be utilized as a recovery tool. So, for OGT we can utilize Facebook and Email services for Lead Nurturing, a primary goal of both the DXP .and our VPs.

As we have better external entities, we must get the maximum out of it while showcasing promotional content via virtual events with external entities' support. With the help of DXP VP, oGX VPs can clearly understand their bottlenecks in partnerships with these EEs and avoid those bottlenecks with the analytics given by DXP VPs. With the proper coordination of both VPs , oGT VPs can partner up with new entities that contain better CV pools to gain more approvals. Therefore, oGX and DXP need both ways to run their operations smoothly and reach out to their targets. Also, we can narrow down the business and customers to attract them and do our promotions. It’s necessary for coordinating and keeping the synergy. 26 23

4.5. What strategies would you implement to improve the Brand, Marketing and platform knowledge of the CS Membership which the membership currently lacks in order to move forward with a digitally upskilled term?

1

Conducting good talent attraction campaigns

The passionate and potential members about marketing should be included in the DXP & marketing team and other member recruitment for OCs and specific functional marketing teams for the proper functioning of it. For this factor conducting talent attraction campaigns is a must. We can showcase to them the activities, including ewA events, LCMs etc., and adequately educate them the how to do the AIESEC BRAND, which will satisfy the MCs marketing requirements.

2

Continuous training sessions should be facilitated for brand and platform knowledge. Although this was done during the previous terms, I plan to conduct continuous training sessions to develop content creation and marketing skills in every month for this digitally upskilled term which should be a major requirement for MARKETING purposes. Even we can give tasks to be completed within a given time frame according to the training session to further enhance the knowledge= by providing pre-and post-guidelines. Pieces of training will lead to a strong marketing-wise educated membership for the AIESEC in CS.

SPECIFIC QUESTIONNAIRE

The AIESEC national education cycle ensures that each member is the Smartest Person with the Brightest Mind and the Proudest voice, ensuring the Highest Performance. AIESECers regularly need to be educated with the portfolios and roles of AIESEC and specially about the dynamic nature of DXP side. There are many resources out there in the internet where everyone can learn about AIESEC and its functioning. As this is at the national level, members do not directly face these leadership portfolios unless they need that knowledge for some content making. So it is always a best practice to educate them at LC level as we can directly focus on our membership. Most of the functioning will happen digitally and unable to do many offline promotions and physical events for the upcoming term. So it is necessary to educate them properly on aspects like Brand, Marketing, and Platform.

4.5. What strategies would you implement to improve the Brand, Marketing and platform knowledge of the CS Membership which the membership currently lacks in order to move forward with a digitally upskilled term?

We can create a separate action plan for the development of education Although one can elaborate on a specific topic, without them in action will make everything useless. So, it is good to make long term and short-term action plans for proper education in the marketing side. We can include even new concepts like Education Academy and Leadership Masterclass, which are available on the AIESEC national level of other countries using free google sites.

4

Making new learning materials by downscaling existing national materials We can create different learning material for each of the PLATFORMS and MARKETING by downscaling the national level materials. If we can also make booklets for each of the functions (oGX and iCX wise) separately specifying their marketing and platform needs, that would be useful. Specifically, we can create specific sections for each of the platforms that will give particular knowledge of the features like stories, IGTV, and web page development.

4.6. What are the advantages and bottlenecks you see in having centralized national platforms for all promotions? AIESEC SRI LANKA

ADVANTAGES ●

● ●

SPECIFIC QUESTIONNAIRE

AIESEC is a global platform for young people to develop their leadership potential through international internships and volunteer opportunities. It is obvious that AIESEC is a massive organization, it is hard to manage its information and data management if they haven’t been centralized. Although it is impossible to make everything centralized, it is better to centralize it at a the national level. So this centralized national platform utilization is better for AIESEC as an organization, although it has some bad aspects on LC level. But in that sense, it better have at least have a national level website (aiesec.lk) than AI level (aiesec.org) where we can specify materials and campaigns to the national level. However, it’s not available in the LC level. After all, AIESEC is an international platform for young people, and it’s better to have these in centralized at the maximum possible level.

We can locally publish web pages on any campaign or ewA events on aiesec.lk with MC’s approval, which has a good view count than if it was at an LC level platform. So, It is very advantageous that they granted us this opportunity to post our content on a national-level website. These platforms’ active status is enhanced as all the LCs are competitively trying their best to post content regularly. So the reach of these pages will eventually increase day by day. After all, for the community audience, AIESEC is a youth organization as a whole. They have not got any better idea of our international, national and LC levels. So it is always better to have everything on centralized platforms as they can find everything from one place. 24 29

AIESEC SRI LANKA ●

BOTTLENECKS ●

It is always better to have separate platforms for LC levels for the proper and FASTER functioning of relevant LC. In that case, we can have much more elasticity on our functionality. But this can always be minimized using the national platforms if their processes follow an efficient performance for faster functionality. Engagement and reach can be improvised by posting more contents if the platforms were downscaled. As we can showcase any brand materials and promotional materials with the approval of LCVPs, it would enable more opportunities for B2C, which is now could not be acquired as everything is centralized. A well-managed and resourceful LC like us would witness severe disadvantages in using national platform as it would not highlight our LC reach. As we have enough resources and resourceful membership, it would have been better if we had a different platform that can showcase our products, increasing our reach. Restricting a trending platform like YouTube national level is a massive bottleneck as in YouTube reach can be gained massively without any reputation if the content is better. As an LC we have many events and promotional videos (even roll calls) used by many of other promotional campaigns in every LC. Going live through YouTube in ewAs and Campaigns could also be achieved without a problem if we had YouTube as a separate platform.

SPECIFIC QUESTIONNAIRE

Using centralized platforms is always better to enhance our external stakeholders (customers, B2B partners, etc) . At the same time, it would be easy for us to pitch the partners relying on the concept of AIESEC in Sri Lanka, which more people around the country have embraced. If not, the AIESEC clarity will be stepped down where they won’t get the primary objectives of AIESEC. So, showcasing any impact nationally will make everything better. Centralizing the brand message and brand clarity will always make the external stakeholder clearly understand AIESEC. Anyone can have a clear vision of what AIESEC is doing and the university structure that it contains.

4.7. Suggest 3 new initiatives that you would implement as the Information Management VP to increase the productivity of the LC.

1

Centralized Information Management & Analytics

As of now, membership can’t access to a LC-level portfolio generally. Although the contents are functional dependent, and all the IM are on relative VP, Other VPs and membership need to gain those analytics through VPs. My first initiative is to create a Centralized Information Management System for the LC membership to acquire those details. All the numbers related to Customer Flow in every function needed to centralize in an LC level for the access of its beloved membership

SPECIFIC QUESTIONNAIRE

The productivity of anything highly relies on information management and analytics. So if we can improvise IM’s implementation in platforms, membership, and contents, it would be much helpful in developing the productivity of the LC. I believe the following strategies will be sufficient for the information management sector.

2.

Knowledge Hub for LC level

IM for oGX B2C for proper Lead Nurturing & Improvement

SPECIFIC QUESTIONNAIRE

This is a huge bottleneck we had in the past as an LC, which can be easily acquired by making an internal platform to educate membership only. I have been implementing this platform for over 3 months and currently, it has been paused as we need to follow the guidelines given my MC for any development. For the coming terms, other than the 6 products of oGX and iCX , membership is also going to be a product of AIESEC. So it is always better to educate and nurture our product which is the membership by creating this kind of a LC level platform. This will be an excellent sustainable digital platform for the whole ecosystem.

3.

This can be easily achieved via making visual analytics for the IM part of B2C of oGX using Google Data Studio, a powerful tool to create interactive dashboards and beautiful reports that inspire these concepts like B2C. This will positively develop these functions' productivity and we can even expand these concepts to every other function if they show some clear improvements. 32 26

1.

First, to keep up the member connection and track the progress, we need to have a meeting at least once in a week. With the process of oGX it is somewhat same thing that members have to do while. So, it would be better if we can be more interactive with them and specially need to listen to their suggestions and change accordingly to get the full experience out of this that they are looking from being a member of this function.

It is also better to have some sessions that describe DXP & IM and its functionality to increase their knowledge about everything we are doing in DXP.

3.

SPECIFIC QUESTIONNAIRE

For member performance, proper communication is highly recommended, and the success of anything greatly depends on member retention. To strengthen the connection between members and track performance, we need to follow up with some strategies.

2.

The next thing is we can have O2O meetings with each member for a month to discuss their difficulties and suggestions. There may be lots of issues in time management with the academic as well. So it our responsibility to delegate appropriate work amount with the time they have.

The next best thing is to maintain a tracker that can track the members’ performance and engagement. In this way, we can easily find if anyone lacks interest in these works. So we can talk to them personally and talk about what we can do to improve their interest in these. If they have any problems, we can also discuss relevant solutions and delegate the work accordingly.
