Connection is paramount to our success in Wines Direct. We talk a lot about the relationships we build with our winemakers, their families and their land. Perhaps we forgot to fill you in on the efforts we make to connect with our customers once the wines have landed here in Ireland.

Many moons ago, our founder Paddy – with absolutely no background in retail – decided that he wanted to expand the business into the direct-to-consumer sector. For him, it was another opportunity to talk about the wines and winemakers of his travels. However, talking is all he’d do if Gareth & Gavin didn’t step in.

Our first retail adventure started in Mullingar in 2007 and has grown from strength to strength. We’ve spent the best part of two decades forging unbreakable connections with our regular customers in Mullingar. We celebrate all walks of life with them: weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and, of course, Christmas.

Our team in Mullingar are knowledgeable beyond measure. While we have many WSET trained members of staff, all of them are Wines Direct trained meaning nattering about our wines and winemakers is their most impressive skill.

In 2023 we decided to take our Mullingar model and transport it to Athlone. The Athlone shop is the physical embodiment of our new branding – but our ethos remains the same. Our staff in Athlone learn from the best and as the years go on, the connections built there will be as powerful as the ones we have in Mullingar.

Christmas Orders YOUR TOP QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Can I include a personal message or add my own company literature?

Yes, you can. You can send us your compliment slips or Christmas cards, pre-written, and we will include these with the gift selections or we can include a Wines Direct card with your message for each gift, FREE OF CHARGE.

I have a large list of recipients. Do you have a multiple delivery service?

Quite simply, yes! We offer both a single and multiple delivery service nationwide. We can arrange for individual delivery to your recipients for €7.50 per address or free for orders over 6 bottle cases. Should you prefer, however, we can arrange a bulk order of all your gifts to a single address FREE OF CHARGE.

I like your selections but I would like to include a different wine.

That’s no problem. Simply give us a call on 0818 579 579 and we can help you tailor a selection that is right for you and your budget.

How do I know the status of my deliveries?

When your wine leaves our warehouse in Mullingar, We will then email you a link for the courier company that your wine is with, You can track your delivery online using this link. If after 5 working days your wine has not reached its destination please call us on 0818 579 579 and we will be delighted to investigate the delivery further.

Order deadline:

To ensure your gift arrives in time for Christmas please order by Wednesday 13th December 2023. After this date we will try our best to ensure your gift arrives on time but we cannot guarantee delivery. Please order early to avoid disappointment, we will prepare your wine and deliver immediately (3-5 working days) or during a later suitable time frame if preferred, Please be mindful if delivering to a business address of their closing dates. We cannot guarantee a specific date of delivery as we work with a third party for all deliveries.

PAYMENT AND CREDIT TERMS:

Payment is due 30 days from the date of invoice. We accept payment via the following methods: VISA, MasterCard, Debit Card, Bank Transfer, Cheque and Banker’s Draft (made payable to ‘Wines Direct’). Prices and quotes exclude VAT at 23% and may be subject to market and currency fluctuations and changes in duty.

RESERVATION OF TITLE:

The property of all goods remains that of Wines Direct until payment has been received.

STOCK CHANGES:

Should a wine become unavailable we will replace it with a wine of equal or higher value at the same price of purchase. Vintages are subject to change.
