Craig Klugman, Ph.D., is a professor of Health Sciences at DePaul University, a bioethicist and medical anthropologist who works on end-of-life issues, public health ethics, ethics pedagogy and public engagement with bioethics. He teaches courses in bioethics, medical humanities, and death and dying, serves on the ethics committee at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and is the blog editor for bioethics.net where he writes on bioethics and health policy. Dr. Klugman is also the producer of the award-winning film, Advance Directives, the Texaslivingwill. org website and A Cure for Dying. Registration required.
Peter Slevin has traveled the country and the globe, working as a national correspondent for The Washington Post for 10 years before joining Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism as an associate professor. He covered Washington politics for the Post, and was diplomatic correspondent on the war in Iraq as well as reporting on national campaigns and policy debates across the United States. Slevin was European Bureau Chief for the Miami Herald for seven years, and is a graduate of Princeton and Oxford Universities. In 2015, Professor Slevin wrote a wellreceived biography, Michelle Obama, A Life. Registration required. The author and editor of five books and numerous scholarly, law and policy publications, Dr. Sobel's work and comments on privacy, confidentiality, and public and foreign policies have appeared at CNN.com and in the Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Newsday, USA Today, and The Washington Post. His eighth book, Citizenship as Foundation of Rights/Meaning for America, explores the nature and meaning of American citizenship and the rights flowing from citizenship in the context of current debates around politics, including immigration. Winnetka Library Renovation Project Construction ahead! The Library Board has voted to move forward with a proposed renovation of the Winnetka Library lobby and several other improvements on the main floor.
