This special group of volunteers works to enrich and enhance the library experience for the residents of the Library District.

Life in a Japanese American Internment Camp

Harbor, Japanese Americans on the West Coast were forced into incarceration camps in remote areas of the country. Of the 120,000 Japanese Americans incarcerated, twothirds were American-born and many were children. Historian and librarian Sarah Okner, a descendant of internees, shares photos and details of daily life in an internment camp, and the profound effects it had on those living there.
