Of the 333 postings related to the Agriculture occupations, 16% (52 postings) specified an annual salary. Among the 52 postings, 56% (29 postings) indicated it to be less than $35,000 per year. Due to the small proportion of postings with salary data, this might not represent all workers in the Agriculture group in Region 9. From the BLS data, six out of the ten occupations were estimated to have an annual median salary less than $35,000. While salaries at this level might be indicative of the low-level experience required for entry into Agriculture, the preference for Bachelor’s degrees coupled with low salaries could discourage entry into the field.
