Camera Equipment & Setup Guide Here is the basic equipment you will get each time you use the cameras. 1xTripod

1xPanasonic HD Camera

1x8GB SD Memory Card 1x Camera Battery 1xCarry Case

This guide will show you how to assemble the equipment, where each part goes and does. 1. Put the SD Card into the SD Card slot on the camera. Make sure the slot is closed or else you will not be able to record any footage.

2. Here is where the battery goes, it slots DOWNWARD onto the back of the camera.

3. Next you should check all of your settings so that they are always the same. You don’t know who used the camera before you, they may have been changed accidently, and if you always record with the same settings – all your shots will match each other. Push in the grey section of the power button and hold in while rotating one space clockwise. To turn the power off, do the same in the opposite direction.

4. Open up the screen section of the camera, here you will find both your preview monitor and your settings interface. To change some of the settings click “Menu”.

5. The first thing you should do in the Settings Menu is Format the memory card. This deletes all the previous work saved on the memory card, allowing you to use all of the memory for your work. If the person didn’t save their work after they handed in the camera that is their own fault. This should encourage you to save all of your work to your D: Drive folder before giving the camera back to the technician or teacher. To format the memory card, after pressing “Menu” press the bottom option “Other Functions”. Remember this model of camera is touch-screen operated.

The first option is “Card Format”, press this and then press “YES” to confirm the operation. The EXIT button the bottom right will get you back to “Shooting Mode”.

6. If you press in the grey section of the power button and try to turn it clockwise again whilst the power is on, it should reach a point and try to spring back. Doing this will bring up all the clips you have filmed so far, and all the clips you have ever filmed on the cameras memory – in chronological order.

By pressing on the thumbnail of any clip, you can watch back what you just shot. To get back to “Shooting Mode” from here, just rotate the grey part of the power button clockwise using the same action as you did to get there.

7. Deleting Clips. From this screen you are currently on you can delete clips by selecting the unwanted clip, and then pressing the “Trash-Can” icon on the bottom right. This should bring up an option screen; delete all the clips, delete multiple clips you select individually, or “No” which takes you back to the previous screen. To delete particular clips, press “Select”, taking you to the screen below. Here you can delete clips one by one.
