a day with Mini Studious.
HELLO!
I am mini studious.... and I love learning about everything and anything. However, what i love the most... is making friends with people that are out of my books!!!
Here are some of my friends. Do you know that being in the greens helps to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, improves mood and helps you focus better? This is because spending time in nature allows the cognitive portion of our brain to rest, allowing us to receive maximum focus and the ability to be patient! Look around you – have you been paying close attention to these trees?
I am drought-resistent, which is why I can stand Singapore’s burning weather!
Mr Yellow Flame
I am a large deciduous tree can grows up to 40m tall, recognised by my dropping, dome-shaped crown.
MR Angsana
Everywhere around you
I am a huge tree that acts as an umbrella for everyone with my big umbrella-shaped crown!

standing on top of the rainforest at 25m off the ground now!
HEY YO! This is Mr RusselL (Rusty).
Do you know that leaves can turn rusty too? This is due to the growth of epiphytic algae on their surfaces. But rest assure, they are not harmful to the host plants although thick growth can reduce the amount of sunlight being absorbed by the plants for photosynthesis.
And Mr Fun Guy (Fungi)! Many tropical forest trees are commonly composed of dense hardwood that takes a long time to break down. If you examine the surface of these logs closely, you will likely see bracket fungus growing on the logs. Fungi have a vital role to play in the rainforest ecosystem, as they help to break down dead plant matter and return the organic matter to the forest floor.
The coolest mushroom ever.
Hmm... that looks yummy...
Have to eat it secretly while in the woods..
Meanwhile, remember to never feed the wildlife! Sometimes I get hungry while observing the movements and behaviour of my friends...But one thing to remember is to never share your food with them, such as the monkeys because it would disrupt their feeding pattern and adversely alter their behaviour!
It’s gonna be Chilly day tonight!
During rainy days, I have MR elephant ear as a shelter...
... And that is all I have to share with you for today! Now, it’s time for you to start on your own learning adventures with nparks, and be amazed by the things you can learn outside of your books! Happy learning with NParks!
