There were very few people trying to build new insurance companies of their own. But for Kyle, the only thought was “challenge accepted.” He saw an opportunity for technology in insurance and designed Clearcover around an app that allows policyholders to submit claims and payments, get paid quickly, and receive help.

Kyle’s path wasn’t linear. After spending his years after college searching for his ideal profession, he discovered a passion for entrepreneurship.
During his MBA, Kyle immersed himself in the entrepreneurial scene at UW–Madison and became a founding member of American Family Ventures. He was responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and structuring more than 50 equity and debt venture capital investments in tech startups.

“I remember thinking to myself that there was an opportunity there and that I could take it,” she says.
Shawana is the managing director at BentallGreenOak, a global real estate investment company. After working at EY in her hometown of New Orleans, she saw firsthand how revitalization projects could impact the city. When her Wisconsin MBA cohort took a trip to China, she became intrigued by the country’s real estate planning in conjunction with urban planning and government regulations. It was an experience that sparked the idea of pursuing a global career.
