Do you like to manage complex projects in a global environment? Supply chain managers are experts at working cross-functionally and managing global projects and relationships. They reach across functions within their own organizations and beyond—to suppliers, channel partners, and customers who may be around the block or around the world. The Wisconsin MBA in Supply Chain Management delivers a cross-functional education through a curriculum that integrates both the operations and marketing disciplines. You will learn about product design, sourcing, production, distribution, demand management, technology, and customer service from worldrenowned faculty and industry leaders. This cross-functional approach delivers expertise on both the demand and supply side of business, preparing students for a variety of dynamic career paths. From an operations perspective, supply chain managers may work in sourcing, inventory management, sales and operations planning, logistics, and enterprise/ERP systems. OPERATIONS & TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT The Wisconsin MBA in Operations and Technology Management (OTM)—offered by the Erdman Center for Operations and Technology Management—is designed for those seeking advanced positions as consultants; analysts; product or service managers; project leaders; business developers; or operations, information technology, and supply chain managers—while priming themselves for senior leadership roles. Students can focus on Operations Management or on Information Technology Management, gaining critical business skills applicable to both service organizations and manufacturing firms. OTM’s flexible and interdisciplinary curriculum provides both depth and breadth. Students develop decision-making skills and comprehensive knowledge of planning; designing; implementing; managing; evaluating; and improving processes, resources, and information systems. Beyond the MBA core courses, students have required course work in decision-making models, ERP, lean principles and organization, managerial accounting, and managing change. They can choose electives in sustainability, valuation, entrepreneurship, negotiation, logistics/supply chain management, service operations, process and quality improvement, service/product design, e-business, systems analysis and design, as well as in traditional business areas like accounting, management, and marketing.

Many students in the program have undergraduate degrees in engineering or the sciences, while others have different academic backgrounds combined with work experience in a technical field.
