Surgical strike across LoC by Indian Army In a stunning reprisal for the Uri terror attack by the Pakistani terrorists that breached decades of selfimposed restraint, India has conducted “surgical strikes” on seven terrorist “launch pads” across the Line of Control (LoC) in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in the early hours September 29. Top government sources said that it was “not possible to immediately quantify” the number of terrorists killed in the strikes carried out by crack Para-Special Forces who has simultaneously hit five launchpads located 1.5-6.5 km inside PoK. “According to an initial estimate, as many as 40 to 55 terrorists were killed. But it will take some time to arrive at the approximate number of casualties after the Para-SF teams are properly de-briefed and photographs and videos analysed,” said a source.
Anti-India tweet by Kejriwal Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has come under fire yet again after he shared an article by a national daily which made a case in the favour of Pakistan over Uri attack. The article claimed that it was not Pakistan but India which was getting isolated internationally after Uri attacks by Pakistan terrorists. “Excellent article. On Uri, rather than Pak, India seems to be getting isolated internationally,” Kejriwal tweeted.
Supreme Cort order on Cauvery burned Karnataka On 2 September 2016, Supreme Court asked Karnataka to consider Tamil Nadu’s plea on humanitarian grounds and release water and advised both states to maintain harmony. The Court asked Karnataka to revert by 5 September 2016 as to how much water it can release. On 5 September 2016 Karnataka informed the Supreme Court that it can release 10,000 cusecs per day, while Tamil Nadu demanded 20,000 cusecs per day. Supreme Court ordered Karnataka to release 15,000 cusecs per day to Tamil Nadu for next 10 days till 16 September 2016. On 9 September 2016, the state of Karnataka observed a bandh and protested against the release of water to Tamil Nadu. Supreme Court modified the 5 September order, directing Karnataka to release 12,000 cusecs of water till 20 September 2016. This decision by the Supreme Court lead to an unrest among the people of Karnataka as the water release limit was increased by extending the number of days and violence broke out in Bangalore, Mysore, Mandya and other parts of state. Two people were killed in the unrest and section 144 was imposed in Bangalore. Curfew was also imposed on few parts of Bangalore.
Telangana inundated by flood The flood situation deteriorated in Telangana as water levels continued to rise in Godavari river following heavy rainfall in upper catchment areas and release of water from Maharashtra dams. Several places across Telangana continued to receive heavy rainfall paralysing normal life. People in low lying areas on the banks Godavari were been put on high alert and are being evacuated to safer places and relief camps are being opened. The Indian Air Force (IAF) rescued 24 labourers who were caught in floods in Telangana’s Medak district.

Pakistani terrorists attack Army base at Uri At around 5:30 a.m. on 18 September, four militants attacked an Indian Army brigade headquarters in Uri, near the Line of Control in a pre-dawn ambush. They were said to have lobbed 17 grenades in three minutes. As a rear administrative base camp with tents caught fire, 17 army personnel were killed. A gun battle ensued lasting six hours, during which all the four militants were killed. An additional 19-30 soldiers were reported to have been injured in the attack. Combing operations continued to flush out additional terrorists thought to be alive. Most of the soldiers killed were from the 10 Dogra and 6 Bihar regiments. One of the injured soldiers succumbed to his injuries on 19 September at R&R Hospital in New Delhi, followed by another soldier on 24 September, bringing the death toll to 19.
Pakistan isolated, India pulls out of SAARC meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not travel to Islamabad for the regional SAARC summit in November, three other members - Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Bhutan - have also pulled out of the meet, isolating the host Pakistan. The SAARC or South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation summit cannot take place even if one of the eight members withdraws. India has said “cross-border terror attacks” have created an environment that is “not conducive” for the meeting. Foreign ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted, “Regional cooperation and terror don’t go together. India pulls out of SAARC Summit in Islamabad.” The decision is one in a series of key moves in India’s global campaign to isolate Pakistan after four terrorists crossed the border into Kashmir and attacked an army base in Uri, killing 18 soldiers.

Bannerugatta Village of Handlooms
WWW.WISHESH.COM | OCTOBER 2016
Bannerugatta is situated 22 KM from the city of Bangalore in the state of Karnataka in India. This is a small village.
Places to visit There is a Tiger and Lion reserve park of Indian tigers including white tigers, lions and other mammals in this village. There is a Butterfly Park in Bannerugatta which is spread across 7.5 acres. It comprises a butterfly conservatory, museum and an audio-visual room. The butterfly conservatory has a circular enclosure, inside which the living environment has been carefully designed to support over 20 species of butterflies. The environment has a tropical setting complete with the humid climate, an artificial waterfall, a narrow walking bridge and host plants and shrubs that attract butterflies.
Weaver’s village In Bannerugatta there is a place called weavers colony which is known for its handloom products. The sarees are weaved in pure silk and zari. The yarn is locally available and zari comes from Surat in the state of Gujarat in India. The zari used is usually of silver. There are around 3000 looms in Bannerugatta in which around 2750 are power looms and balance handlooms. Due to the
Heavy cost incurring in handloom weaving and the non availability of weavers, once famous handlooms are now shifting to power looms. New generation is not interested in the traditional weaving due to low wages.
Dyeing of Yarn Bannerugatta handlooms are well known for the durability of the colours. The mixture of colour gives the durability. The process of manufacturing a Bannerugatta

Handloom Saree starts with dyeing the silk yarn. Dyeing is the coloring process of the yarn by dipping the yarn in the boiled color water in very high temperature, higher the temperature durability of colour is also higher. Dyeing of the yarn is done making sure that the color is spread uniformly throughout the yarn and it doesn’t affect the quality of the yarn. The coloring process is a very crucial step in getting a good colourful saree. The colours are applied as per the specifications of the designers and also some times as per the orders from the customers who orders for a designer Saree. After coloring the silk yarn is dried in shade. Drying yarn in sun can be harmful to yarn.
Process The count used in weaving gives the softness and hardness of the fabric. Count means the number of threads used in the length and breadth for weaving known as warp and weft respectively. Each and every thread of the Bannerugatta handloom saree is hand woven. Each weaver works from home with all his / her family helping in Different steps of the process. It requires approximately 4-8 days (depending on the variety of saree) of continuous efforts of two WWW.WISHESH.COM | OCTOBER 2016
persons for weaving a saree. It is also rolled over small sticks to use for weft. After dyeing and drying the yarn, it is converted to thread and is loaded as warp which is called pavvu and then it is loaded into the loom for actual weaving. One pavvu will make 12 sarees. It will take 2 months to complete weaving of one pavvu. The weaver will get a remuneration of around `250 per saree.
Techniques Bannerugatta handloom sarees are traditionally woven in the interlocked-weft technique. The design required on the saree is initially drawn in a computer and then this is punched into a card and then these cards are loaded in Jacard in the loom.
Declining Handloom Industry Once famous Bannerugatta Handloom products are now becoming extinct due to the low wages prevailing in the industry. Previously Bannerugatta was full of talented weavers who used to do magic in the looms to produce the best handloom products. Now you can see that a very small number of weavers are actually in the profession and most of the handlooms are being converted to power looms. One can see only rare cases of handlooms in Bannerugatta. There is an urgent situation to take necessary steps to protect the traditional Bannerugatta handloom products.
Weaver’s voice The weavers demand a responsible role by the government to protect the handloom industry by providing subsidy for yarn and a rehabilitation package for the weavers who have suffering due to the high cost of yarn and low wages prevailing in the industry. They hope that if the government takes the responsibility to support the handloom industry by way of showcasing and marketing the handloom products, then only the industry can survive or else the present situation has started the end of handloom industry in Bannerugatta. The new generation is not interested in the profession due to the hard labour and long hours to bring out the finished product, but the returns are not lucrative to make them stay in the profession. DUNGRI The Dungri Garasia are a clan of the Bhil ethnic community found in the states of Gujarat and Rajasthan in India. The word Dungri literally translates as hills and Garasia means a clearer of forest in the Rajasthani dialect. According to their traditions, this community of Bhils migrated from Mewar about three hundred years ago, to escape the Mughal forces attacking the Maharana Pratap. They are now found in the taluqas of Meghraj, Bhiloda, Vijaynagar, and Khed Brahma of Sabarkantha District, Gujarat, where the community still speaks Mewari. In Gujarat, the Dungri Garasia are an endogamous community. They consists of two subdivisions, the Bhagat and Sansari, who do not intermarry. These subdivisions in turn consist of clans, which are
exogamous. The major clan groupings are the Pandor, Parmar, Moria, Damor, Gameti, Taral, Bhagora,Katara, gelat, kharadi, Menat ,Limbat, Ninama, Bodat and Asari . The Garasias resembles closely with the advanced Rajput clans in many ways. Due to these, the British administration had even categorized the Garasias as a branch of Rajputs who were petty land holders. Even today amidst poverty and deep isolation it is surprised to see that Garasias not only as prime agriculturalists, but also as holders of large chunk of lands in the remote slopes of Aravali Mountains. Garasias are poor and are deprived of basic services like, health, education and safe drinking water. Farming is mostly rain fed. According to historical records, in colonial India, as land became scarce both through colonial expansion and slashand-burn agriculture Garasias became further marginalized and associated themselves with Bhils, a more primitive tribal group. The nationalist movement created further division between groups as the Rajput identity was grounded in traditional customs and their heritage as rulers. The Garasia women are known for their colourful attires and silver jewellery. Dhols (drums) and bowarrows are also part of the material culture of the Garasias. Women’s responsibility include cooking, tending to cattle, milking the animals and looking after the children. The men do the physical labour such as ploughing, harvesting and building the houses. There is a strong prevalence of joint family system though there is very little unity or cooperation between the village clans.

Gadia Lohars nomadic community of Rajasthan
Gadia Lohars or Gaduliya Lohars are a nomadic community of Rajasthan, India. They are found in the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. They are lohar (ironsmith) by profession who moves from one place to another place on bullock carts, which in Hindi are called gadi, hence the name ‘Gadia Lohar’. WWW.WISHESH.COM | OCTOBER 2016
These Lohars are different from the Lohar clan of Iran, Pakistan and India. They usually make and repair agricultural and household implements.
Bullock carts are their homes. They lead a hard life and despite the vagaries of weather and the uncertainties of their trade, they are known as children of the desert and are a handsome and cheerful lot and remain buoyantly dignified, unmindful of their hard life. Gadulia Lohars are originally from the state of Rajasthan and have scattered all over India. Presently they inhabit in the neighbouring states such as, Uttar Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra, Punjab, Gujarat, Delhi. They are variously known in different states; for example, in Madhya Pradesh and Delhi they are called as Gadia Lohar, in Maharashtra they

are known as Gaddi Lohar, while in Uttar Pradesh they are Bhuvariya. In Haryana they are called as Bhubalia Lohar and in Rajasthan itself they are known as Gadulia Lohar or Dhurkutia. They get different titles depending upon their movements and location, such as: Maliwi Gadulia Lohar, Chittori Gadulia Lohar, Mewar Gadulia Lohar and Malwa Gadulia Lohar. Their mother tongue is Indo-Aryan language, called Mewari, but many of them are conversant with Hindi as well. The Devanagari script is used for writing. In permanent settlements they construct mud or brick
houses with proper roof. This is because of the economic changes coming to this nomadic group. When they settle at a place for more than six months they generally make low walls of mud bricks and then construct the roof of shack or of plastic covering. When they live at a place for less than six months they do not construct any walls but they use the plastic sheet for roof, supported by wooden poles. They also have tents when they do not live at a place more than a week. Those families, which go from village to village in two or three days, do not construct any shelter but they live below the cart itself. OCTOBER 2016 | WWW.WISHESH.COM

They travel in a small group, known as band, which means a group of people who are related to each other and sometimes work together. They always share the income among the family even if some members have not helped in that work. As these bands do not often associate with other bands of the same tribe, certain cultural practices, customs and characters are different than each other. They adopt the methods and implement the local tools, dress, dialect, standard of living, way of life, customs, habits, ways, etc. The Lohar tribal people have simple daily habit related to preparing food, both vegetarian and nonvegetarian, for themselves as well as searching for metal tools working in the settled place. As they are travelling with cattle, their livestock are well-fed and cared for. There are some other important points of their migration like searching for water resources for various purposes, the WWW.WISHESH.COM | OCTOBER 2016

In a family unit there are Husband, Wife, Children, their joint family members including grandmother and grandfather. The structure of family is neither rigid nor a general structure of the family. Their laws or religion do not make any deal with family matters. Their characters, behaviour and reactions have ever changed. They do not follow a certain law established on any divine or legal framework. Their decisions are purely based on reactions to the experiences, awareness, learning and outcome of their environment that they stay and that are also subjected to error.
The Gadulia Lohars are Hindus. Their deities are Kalkamata, Sitalamata and Ramdev. There is a temple of Kalkamata in Chittorgarh. They keep photographs of the deities in house for worshipping and also their kings. They always wear the traditional dress but those who have settled or move after long intervals, wear the traditional dress only during ceremonies. Otherwise they wear the normal Rajasthani dresses as other people. The young generation and children do not wear traditional dress. Married men and women only wear it. The Gadulia Lohar wears many kinds of ornaments. Both men and women wear different kinds of them. Normally, these ornaments
are made of gold, silver and sometimes of copper metals, while thread, beads and ivory are also used. Men wear earrings, generally in one ear but sometimes also in both. They have bangles and rings. They wear metal rings in their ankles. Women wear earrings, bangles, necklaces and rings. Their bangles are made of ivory and rarely of glass. The anklets are of copper. The necklaces are made of gold and silver. Women wear bangles on their arm too, right from the shoulder the bangles were
made of ivory in early days but now they wear mostly plastic imitations. The colour is white. They carry Rudraksha mala and sometimes the pendants are made of Rudraksha too. The different kinds of lockets or pendants used by them are named differently, such as chandirapin, chintmataki patri, Chur siddh ki Patri, etc. Hansali is a kind of ornamented and decorated ring of metal, which is opened on one side worn by women on special occasions.
Women wear pendant like ornament (bor) in between the hair partition and tie it to the hair for support. This pendant is tied to a thread. They also have metallic waistband. The women wear nose ornament. This is called as nath. It is sometimes small and sometimes large. It can be like a ring or even like an ornamented plate.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, in her address at the 71st UNGA session gave a tight slap to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s rant on Kashmir and terrorism. Swaraj vociferously spoke about cross-border terrorism emanating from Pakistan, the violation of human rights in Balochistan and Pakistan’s complete failure in ensuring that its land is not used for terrorist activities.

On 21st September, the Prime Minister of Pakistan used this podium to make baseless allegations about human rights violations in my country. I can only say that those accusing others of human rights violations would do well to introspect and see what egregious abuses they are perpetrating in their own country, including in Balochistan. The brutality against the Baloch people represents the worst form of State oppression, said Swaraj. Preface to the Birth of
Sri Krishna WWW.WISHESH.COM | OCTOBER 2016
Krishna was born in a tense historical period preceding a devastating war. The warring factions built up so many weapons that the burden on the earth became unbearable. The goddess of Earth took the form of a cow and prayed to Lord Brahma for relief. Lord Brahma called all the demigods to the shore of the Milk Ocean to hear Mother Earth and to worship the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Vishnu. Lord Brahma fell into trance reciting the Vedic hymns known as the Purusa-sukta and heard the voice of Lord Vishnu. Then he announced, “O demigods, hear from me the words of god. He is aware of the distress on Earth and wants you demigods to incarnate as sons and daughters in the Yadu dynasty. The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Krishna, will personally appear as the son of Vasudeva. Therefore you will all have the benediction of joining the eternal pastimes of Lord Krishna.” Lord Brahma consoled the
cow and sent her home, then returned to his planet, Brahmaloka. The demigods began to take birth in the Yadu dynasty, awaiting the appearance of Lord Krishna. The members of the Yadu dynasty, headed by Vasudeva and Devaki, along with their friends, relatives, and well-wishers were all demigods. The residents of Vrindavana, headed by King Nanda, Queen Yasoda and Queen Rohini, were also demigods. King Kamsa was another relative in the family, he was not a demigod. He usurped the throne of his father, Ugrasena, and put him in prison. When Devaki, a member of Ugrasena’s family, married Vasudeva, she received a large dowry of elephants, horses, chariots, and servants. After the wedding, Kamsa took the reins of the wedding chariot and started to escort
the couple home. Along the way, a voice from the sky addressed him: “You foolish king, the eighth son of Devaki will kill you!” Kamsa pulled Devaki down by her hair, drew his sword and prepared to kill her on the spot, but Vausdeva begged for his bride’s life and promised to let him kill the eighth child, so that the oracle would not be fulfilled. Kamsa agreed to spare her life, but locked Vasudeva and Devaki in a stone prison. Thereafter, he mercilessly killed the first six sons of Devaki. Devaki’s seventh son miscarried but mystically transferred to the womb of Queen Rohini in Vrindavana. This became Krishna’s elder brother, Balarama. Soon thereafter, Devaki became pregnant with her eighth child. That is Sri Krishna.

living. Remember healthy living is always a happy living.
Having a healthy living is the most important factor in our life. Healthy living can lead us to the point where we can enjoy life to the fullest until we grow old and will never experience anything that might harm us or give us pain. Finding happiness in your everyday life can make a positive impact on your overall health. Happiness has a positive effect in lowering the cortisol levels, the stress hormone that is related to health conditions like type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and autoimmune diseases. Make the commitment to think differently about yourself and make happiness the first thing of the day,” Gabrielle Bernstein. “When we look at ourselves in the mirror every morning and think of all the things we want to change, that’s a choice we make,” says Bernstein. “Make the commitment to think
differently about yourself and make happiness the first thing of the day.” Bernstein recommends to employ her “Snap Out of It” meditation technique, in which you wear a rubber band on your wrist and whenever you start to think any negative thoughts about yourself or towards another person, flick the rubber band against your arm. This will literally help you “snap” out of the negative thoughts. Whenever you feel stressed about the responsibilities and commitments, unplug from the world, shut off your computer and phone and tap into your inner child. When we become more childlike, we grow our capacity for curiosity and creativity. “Open up to silliness and having more fun. That childlike energy brings us a much more positive perspective and releases
tension,” Bernstein says. Sleep is essential to optimal health, but people often forget that it is also a spiritual practice that benefits us mentally and emotionally. Lacking essential shut-eye is another way we block the happiness from our lives. To help you get a restful night of sleep, practice simple Kundalini breathing technique. Sit up straight on your bed and breathe in using a U breath (Pucker your mouth as if you were holding a quarter between your lips.). Breathe in and exhale through your nose. Continue this cycle of breath for one minute. These are very simple tips which anyone can practice for a healthy living. Remember healthy living is always a happy living.

Wealthy foreigner’s
US citizenship to expire on September 30th A contentious visa program that allows wealthy foreigners to obtain US citizenship by investing in economic development projects will expire at the end of this month. The program, called EB-5, allows foreign investors to gain citizenship by investing $500,000 to more than $1 million to finance a business that eventually employs, directly or indirectly, at least 10 American workers in economically depressed areas.
WWW.WISHESH.COM | OCTOBER 2016
Developers and supporters in Congress say that the program, run by the Department of Homeland Security, has brought billions of dollars to areas that would otherwise not have access to capital. But the program has been marred by fraud and used to build large projects in wealthier areas like Manhattan and the Las Vegas Strip instead of highunemployment or rural areas. Critics of the EB-5 program, Sens. Charles E. Grassley, R-Iowa, and Patrick J. Leahy, D-Vt., see reauthorization of the program as an opportunity to fix problems with how the money is used, increase oversight and address national security issues. They sent a letter to Senate leaders opposing reauthorization of the program without a significant overhaul.
“The program has become plagued by fraud and abuse and if not reformed, it should be allowed to expire on September 30th,” they wrote. “There is a need for more oversight and transparency,” said Ronald R. Fieldstone, a Miami lawyer who has been involved in using the EB-5 funding for development projects. “If there is no independence in the administering and the distribution of the funds, it exposes the program to instances of fraud.”
helped transform places that were previously economically depressed. “One of the challenges of EB-5 investment is that people look at what an area looks like after the investment,” she said. “It’s hard to convince them what it looked like before.”
Officials at Homeland Security Investigations, a division of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said that they were concerned that those who prepare overseas documents “may try to use Angelique Brunner, a increasingly sophisticated Washington-based developer methods to circumvent” the and spokeswoman for the program. In a 2013 memo, EB-5 Investment Coalition, the agency suggested that which is made up of investors the EB-5 regional center and developers, said that program end because “there many of the examples that are no safeguards that can be critics point to as EB-5 put in place that will ensure investments in upscale areas the integrity” of the regional failed to note that the program center model. Presidential debates
kicks off
US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton exchanged a handshake and a smile at the lip on the stage provided by New York’s Hofstra University, there was a palpable sense that the ‘warmth’ — no matter how insincere — would be ephemeral.
WWW.WISHESH.COM | OCTOBER 2016
To the first question by the moderator, Lester Holt, relating to jobs and job creation, both Clinton and Trump began laying into each other. “Trumped-up trickle down economics” was the phrase by Clinton to describe how Trump intends to ‘Make America Great Again’, adding, “Donald wants to help the rich so as to build the economy. I want to help the small businessmen.” In turn, the Republican candidate fired back that it was the trade agreements, particularly Nafta (the North American Free Trade Agreement), that were to blame. Fixing these ‘defective’ trade agreements, he claimed, was something “Clinton, politicians and others should have been doing this for years”. Clinton and Trump both set about establishing their personas right from the first question. With repeated references to her father Hugh E Rodham and his drapery business, Clinton’s position was that she, as the daughter of a small businessman, was speaking on behalf of small businessmen. Trump, on the other hand, with repeated references to his own business ventures, including two particularly
tasteless ones when discussing the Charlotte shooting and aftermath (“I have investments in Charlotte”) and growing crime rates in Chicago (“I own property there”) sought to project himself primarily as a successful businessman. Clinton appeared to be trying to tell her country that the economic and trade policies she is suggesting would help the common man and result in job creation. Meanwhile, Trump appeared to be using business sense to explain some of the strange things he has said in the past like getting allies to pay for protection. “NATO? You have to understand I’m a businessperson. Number one, 28 countries of NATO, not all are paying their fair share. And they should be paying us,” he said, using the US’ $20 trillion debt as the reason that payment was required. Clinton was trying to project Trump as being delusional, misguided and living in his own reality (something to which she even alluded in the first segment of the debate), while Trump was playing on Hillary’s ‘30 years’ in government as being full of ‘bad experiences’ and failures.
As the debate itself was lacking in content, insight and exectution. A CNN / ORC poll of debate-watchers suggested that 62 percent felt Clinton had won, as against 27 percent opting for a Trump win, it was less about how much either candidate won and more about how little they lost. Trump put himself at a disadvantage by appearing to be under-prepared. Blustery generalisations, a Sarah Palin-esque lack of specifics and a refusal to stay on topic made the Republican look a distinct amateur in all areas except one. Trade was where Trump appeared to have done his homework and seemed reasonably solid when backing up his positions on plurilateral trade agreements. By positioning himself as this big businessman and constantly drawing attention to the country’s debt as well as the lack of jobs, his message seemed to be that what the US really needs is Donald Trump as CEO.

Uri attacks
Pakistan’s dirty tricks
The Uri attack was an attack by four heavily armed Pakistani terrorists on 18 September 2016, near the town of Uri in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.

It was reported as “the deadliest attack on security forces in Kashmir in two decades”. At around 5:30 a.m. on 18 September, four terrorists attacked an Indian Army Brigade headquarters at the town of Uri near the Line of Control in a pre-dawn ambush. They have lobbed 17 grenades in 3 minutes. As a rear administrative base camp with tents caught fire, 13–14 army personnel were killed. A gun battle ensued lasting six hours, during which all the four terrorists were killed. An additional 19

- 30 soldiers were reported to have been injured in the attack. Most of the soldiers killed were from the 10 Dogra and 6 Bihar regiments. One of the injured soldiers succumbed to his injuries on 19 September at R&R Hospital in New Delhi. As of 19 September 2016, total casualties on the military side is poised at 18. The high casualties are primarily believed due to non-fire retardant transition tents. This was the time of a troops shift, whereby the 6 Bihar regiment was
replacing 10 Dogra regiment. The incoming troops were housed in tents, which are normally avoided in sensitive areas around LOC like Uri. The attackers sneaked into the camp breaching heavy security and seemed to know exactly where to strike. Seven of the personnel killed were support staff, including cooks and barbers. Army personnel have recovered a map from the slain terrorists which had
markings in the Pashtun language and indicated a detailed plan of action. Four AK-47 rifles and four under barrel grenade launchers along with ammunition were recovered. Some of the items had Pakistani markings. The Director General of military operations, Lieutenant-General Ranbir Singh, said that there is enough evidence that the attackers belonged to Jaishe-Mohammad, an Islamist
militant group in Pakistan. He established a hotline contact with his Pakistani counterpart and conveyed India’s serious concern on the issue.
had registered a case on Sunday and began a probe by collecting evidence available with the Army formation at Uri.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered a case to probe the terror attack at the Army installation in Uri in Jammu and Kashmir in which 18 soldiers were killed and dozens others injured.
The inquiry would suggest measures to prevent such attacks in the future as Pakistani based groups are indulging more in “shallow infiltration”, which means that terrorists strike the first available installation after crossing the Line of Control.
The NIA has took over the investigation from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, which

It has been decided to merge the Rail Budget and the General Budget. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu will not present it for the year 2017-18. Instead, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will present a “unified” budget. The proposal was given a go-ahead by the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which has also advanced the date of the presentation of general budget from the last day of February and merger of the Plan and the Non-Plan classification in the Budget and Accounts. “All proposals regarding the Railway Budget will be part of general budget, which will WWW.WISHESH.COM | OCTOBER 2016
have a separate discussion on railway expenditure,” Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said but emphasised that “the functional autonomy of the Railways will be maintained.” Post merger of Rail Budget with the General Budget, the Finance Ministry will be exploring ways to cut short railway expenses particularly concession and subsidy on passenger fares. The government will form a committee to look into the aspect of concessions to as many as 53 categories, including senior citizens, sportspersons, freedom fighters and differently-abled among others.
“As far as the burden of concessional fare in different categories including sportspersons and patients is concerned, the government will constitute a separate committee to find out a way forward for it,” a senior railway ministry official said. “With scrapping of the railway budget, the finance ministry may consider cutting short on these concessions,” he indicated. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu claimed that merger of the two budgets will not affect the ‘distinct identity’ of the railways and its functional autonomy. “The government will also
take an initiative to ensure that there is a separate discussion to the railways expenditure each year so that there is a element of detailed Parliamentary scrutiny and accountability,” Prabhu said. “This will help raise capital expenditure in Railways. Functional autonomy, distinct identity of Railways will remain as it is. Our efforts to leverage extra budgetary
resources will continue,” he said. “Advancing the Budget will help spending on projects in states from April itself instead of SeptemberOctober (as the monsoon kicks in by the time Budget approved in May),” Jaitley said.

LIFE STYLE
Perfect lifestyle for long life 54
WWW.WISHESH.COM | OCTOBER 2016
A
A
A healthy lifestyle is quite simple to achieve - one does not need to do anything “crazy” to adopt a perfect lifestyle. The importance of living a perfect lifestyle for maintaining general good health and preventing chronic diseases has been the aim of all. A better lifestyle does not happen, by just wishing. In order to get a better lifestyle we need to put ourselves in the position to achieve that lifestyle. Our health continues to deteriorate at an alarming pace, and the incidence of chronic, degenerative disease is skyrocketing each year. Over the last 50 years the medical establishment has vigorously promoted a low-fat, high carbohydrate diet, claiming that it would protect us from heart disease and diabetes and make us healthier and happier. The statistics make it clear that the
conventional approach has been a dismal failure and has not only failed to protect our health, instead has directly contributed to the epidemic of modern disease.
The best way to have a perfect lifestyle is to follow the following tips. Don’t eat toxins. Nourish your body.
One of the most glaring mistakes that conventional medicine has made is to assume that all of these modern diseases like diabetes, heart disease, depression, autoimmune disease, etc. are unrelated conditions that don’t share a common cause. The truth is that these conditions do have unique features, they all share a common origin - the modern lifestyle. Poor diet, nutrient deficiencies, stress, lack of sleep, lack of or the wrong type of exercise, toxins and medications, all directly contributed to the problems that are ruining our health.
Eat real food. Supplement wisely. Heal your gut. Manage stress. Move like your ancestors. Sleep more deeply. Practice pleasure.
And finally, the most important aspect to remember is: The biggest obstacle to perfect health is your mind!

RELATIONSHIP
Keeping Relationships Intact All relationships, regardless of what kind they may be, as a single, married, friendships etc, require work. 56
There are numerous things that have to be taken into consideration, such as appreciating each other, not assuming or taking each other for granted, forgiveness, patience and tolerance. These attributes have to be a continuous part of every relationship, for it to be a lasting and successful. When we go through a genuine crisis, our intimate relationships with other people, your spouse or sweetheart, children, family and friends are affected. People in crisis find it difficult to socialize with others, difficult to concentrate and difficult to have any get-up-and-go. or anxiety feel blunted and difficult to access. Normal things that have brought pleasure in the past, watching a movie, going out on the town, dancing, sports, sex and so on, no longer feels to be pleasurable or interesting. A crisis strains the relationships. A person in crisis is likely to be morose, pessimistic, hopeless, sad, anxious, fatigued and less fun. People in crisis complains a lot. They say negative things about what’s wrong with their lives, their work, their families, their partners and with the world. They often have flat
emotions, withdraw from their vital relationships and are prone to saying or doing things that are insensitive, hostile, angry or uncaring. What you can do to keep your relationship intact Affectionate touch is the one thing you can’t let slide. Cuddling, holding hands, hugging or just sitting next to each other, staying in touch is vital to keeping a relationship connected through hard times. Control your words and actions toward others. Don’t take your anger or irritation out on your intimate partner, your children or other people.
Playing and having fun reduces despair and reminds us that we’re still alive. It keeps us connected, knowing that someone is here with us through the hard times. Asking someone for their opinion is the ultimate form of respect. It says that they are important to you and you care enough to take the time to find out their thoughts. Respecting and valuing your partner will go a long way in creating a solid foundation for a lasting relationship.
come out just right. You may not necessarily be sorry for what you did, but you can still be sorry, that the one you love has been hurt by your actions. Saying you are sorry isn’t necessarily an admission of guilt or wrong-doing, it’s just an acknowledgment, that you’ve hurt someone else’s feelings and you feel bad about it.

places will feel just good. Break the mold in terms of the kisses you are giving your partner in favor of something new and exciting. Get creative with your kisses. Kiss every freckle and mole. There are lots of ways to making kissing more romantic, sexy, and memorable. If you have not been partaking in foreplay, now is the best time to start. If your foreplay has been a little and one sided, now is the time to turn the tables. By throwing all of your attention into your partner’s pleasure, you’ll really grab their attention and their gratitude. As long as you speak from the
heart and is honest about your feelings, your partner will be very touched. Tell them what they mean to you and what your life feels like when they’re in it. This will make them feel great and help to set up a really romantic mood. Talking about all the good things that you would like to want in your partner gives you a great way to express your love in a way that really puts the focus on them. This is very romantic and will definitely warm their heart with feelings
of love and affection. Telling your partner just how sexy they are can be a hugely romantic statement. It is especially important when your partner does not really see themselves as a sexual creature or someone that is desirable, because when you show them that you do think of them this way, they start to feel better about themselves.

The city is surrounded by low, rocky, and barren hillocks. The town is surrounded by several lakes and water tanks. The area is rich in limestone, refractory clay, bauxite, iron ore, manganese and other deposits.
Jabalpur was also the epicenter of a major earthquake in 1997. The geographic center of the contiguous India is located 30 km east of Jabalpur in Katangi village. education hub. It is also a major spiritual center being the birthplace of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and Osho Rajneesh and the site of important Jain shrines.
History There is no consensus on the origin of the name Jabalpur. Some scholars believe it could have stemmed from the Arabic root “Jah-BAYL” meaning “mountain, hill or slope” (as
elevations) of “Purwa” region, hence Jah-bayl-purwa or Jabalpur, since the black granite hills are prominent geological formations found in the Garha-Purwa region of Jabalpur. An unrelated term Jaulipattala has been found in a few post-Gupta and Kalchuri inscriptions found in Jabalpur. It has been hypothesized that Jabalpur may be a cognate of the Afghan city of Zabulistan since a princess of
this Afghan city was married to one of the Kalchuri rulers of Tripuri, who later founded Jauli-pattala to settle the people from Zabulistan. Popularly, Jabalpur is postulated to be mythological Jabalipattan or Jabalipuram of the legendary atheist sage Jaabaali mentioned in the epic Ramayana, as his tapasya-bhoomi ( place of penance). He ruled the Garha-Mandla region from Chauragarh fort but later moved the capital to Ramnagar in c. 1652 CE and then back to Mandla fort in c. 1698 CE for strategic reasons. Most of the waterbodies (lakes, reservoirs, stepwells, dams, wells) are from his time. The last Gond ruler who ruled efficiently was Nizamsahi (ruled c. 1753-1780 CE) after whom the Gond kingdom collapsed and the Maratha took over.
The British made Jabbalgarh the commission headquarters of the Saugor and Nerbudda Territories and established a cantonment here. Geographically an important place, the ruling Gond dynasty of Jabalpur lent its name to the primordial continental mass Gondwanaland. Historically, a center of Kalchuri and Gond dynasties, Jabalpur developed a syncretic culture influenced by the intermittent reigns of the Maratha and Mughal empires. In the early nineteenth century, it was gradually annexed to British India as Jubbulpore and incorporated as a major cantonment town.
The Mughal Empire, however, enjoyed little more than a nominal supremacy; and the Gond-administrators of Garha-Mandla maintained a

in safeguarding region’s interests. Beohars were Jagirdars (like Dukes or Earls) who looked after interstate relations. In peace, they were ambassadors and defendants of their state’s traditions / customs and during war became gallantry knight-commanders or Sardar, thus, the titleprefix Sardar-Beohar with salutation Rajman-Rajeshri. Their ancestor Adhar Simha Kayasth, as Rani Durgavati’s ambassador, went to Akbar’s court and as knightcommander, led the army and laid his life for the nation. 64
Much later, estates were granted to R.R. SardarBeohar Kehari Simha (c. 1735-1845) by Gond rulers for bravery in battlefields. He detained Clive’s messenger Jainualbdeen in the region, but let him go after intervention from Raja Nizamsahi and Raja Janoji Bhonsle. A chapter in Sir Sleeman’s book ‘Rambles and Recollections..’ is devoted to Beohar Kehri Simha. R.R. Beohar Dariyav Simha (c. 1760-1850), as minister of Raja Raghoji II Bhonsle, headed the army to win battles of 1792-93 and 1799-1801 defeating pindari Mir Khan. He hosted the orientalist WWW.WISHESH.COM | OCTOBER 2016
Vedic-scholar Sir Colebrooke at Beohar-Palace on embankment of Phootatalreservoir in 1801 CE and took him to his Burhagarh, Gosalpur and Jujhari. His pioneering initiatives against Thuggee’s were taken further by Sleeman. R.R. Beohar Gandharv Simha (c. 17801852) rescued Garha-Mandla’s Rani Laxmankuwari and Prince Nerbuddabux from Visaji Chandokar and crowned him in 1842 ousting cousin Shankarsahi. The Beohar title-prefix and their Riyasat were respected by Nagpur’s Bhonsle, Saugor’s Peshwa, and British who later became hostile due to the family’s nationalism. R.R. Beohar Aman Simha (c. 1830-1890) joined Raja Shankarsahi in 1857 movement. Beohar Raghuvir Simha (1877-1960) was last Jagirdar. Under the British Raj, Jabbalgarh became Jubbulpore and was made the capital of the Saugor and Nerbudda Territories, which was part of the British NorthWestern Provinces. For the noble cause of rehabilitation of thugs’ families who were called gurinds, the Beohar-family allowed their piece of land known as Gurandi in the heart of the town. In Jubbulpore cantonment,
Ashokan relics have been found in Rupnath, a place 84 kms north of Jabalpur, suggesting the existence of human civilization here dating back to c. 300 BC.
Gadadhar Tiwari, on 1606-1857, opened fire on his European superiors and sparked the Independence movement. His supreme sacrifice did not go waste as the movement caught momemtum in the region, albeit, was short lived. It broiled for more than four months during which the British were petrified,
became extremely vulnerable and dreaded the worst. They ran out not only of support but also of supplies and were besieged along with European women and children in their own citadel - the Agency Mansion (now Divisional Commissioner’s residence). They survived only because
a pro-British local bankermerchant came to their rescue which bought them time for reinforcements to arrive. The 1857 movement was locally spearheaded by Gond Raja Shankarsahi and Prince Raghunathsahi who were later arrested and detained. The freedom movement culminated with the martyrdom of Raja Shankarsahi and Prince Raghunathsahi from the mouth of a cannon on 18-091857 at the very spot where Lady Elgin Hospital now stands. Mahatma Gandhi’s longest and most important stay in Jubbulpore was in 1933 at the Beohar-Palace of Beohar Rajendra Simha. Bapu’s grandson Kanu (son of Ramdas Gandhi) also stayed with him at the Beohar-Palace at Sathia Kua near Hanumantal. Mahatma Gandhi’s memorabilia of that occasion are still well preserved by descendents of Beohar-dynasty at The Beohar House in Beohar Bagh. After India’s independence in 1947, Jubbulpore became Jabalpur. Because of Bapu’s strong linkages with Jabalpur and his very special love for it, his mortal remains were brought to the city after is martyrdom. After going through the entire city, the urn containing Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were immersed in holy river Narmada.

History of
India
India’s history and culture is dynamic, spanning back to the beginning of human civilization. It begins with a mysterious culture along the Indus River and in the farming communities in the southern lands of India. The history of India is punctuated by constant integration of migrating people with diverse cultures that surround India. Available evidence suggests that the use of iron, copper and other metals was widely prevalent in the Indian sub-continent at a fairly early period. By the end of the fourth millennium BC, India had emerged as a region of highly developed civilization.

The Indus Valley Civilization
70
The History of India begins with the birth of the Indus Valley Civilization, more precisely known as Harappan Civilization. It flourished around 2,500 BC, in the western part of South Asia. The Indus Valley was home to the largest of the four ancient urban civilizations of Egypt, Mesopotamia, India and China. Nothing was known about this civilization till 1920s when the Archaeological Department of India carried out excavations in the Indus valley wherein the ruins of the two old cities, viz. Mohenjodaro and Harappa were unearthed. The ruins of buildings and other things like household articles, weapons of war, gold and silver ornaments, seals, toys, pottery wares, etc., show that some four to five thousand years ago a highly developed Civilization flourished in this region. The Indus valley civilization was basically an urban civilization and the people lived in well-planned and well-built towns, which were also the centers for trade. The ruins of Mohenjodaro

and Harappa show that these were magnificent merchant cities-well planned, scientifically laid and well looked after. They had wide roads and a well-developed drainage system. The houses were made of baked bricks and had two or more storeys. The highly civilized Harappans knew the art of
growing cereals and wheat and barley constituted their staple food. They consumed vegetables and fruits and ate mutton, pork and eggs as well. Evidences show that they wore cotton as well as woollen garments. By 1500 BC, the Harappan culture came to an end. Among various causes ascribed to the decay of Indus Valley Civilization are the recurrent
floods and other natural causes like earthquake, etc.
Vedic civilization The Vedic civilization is the earliest civilization in the history of ancient India associated with the coming of Aryans. It is named after the Vedas, the early literature of the Hindus. The Vedic Civilization flourished along the river Saraswati, in a region that now
consists of the modern Indian states of Haryana and Punjab. Vedic is synonymous with Aryans and Hinduism, which is another name for religious and spiritual thought that has evolved from the Vedas. The largely accepted view is that a section of Aryans reached the frontiers of the Indian subcontinent around 2000 BC and first settled in Punjab and it is here, in this land, where the hymns of Rigveda were composed.
The Aryans lived in tribes and spoke Sanskrit, which belonged to the Indo-European group of languages. Gradually, the Aryans intermingled with the local people and a historic synthesis was worked out between the Aryan tribes and the original inhabitants. This synthesis broadly came to be known as Hinduism. The Ramayana and Mahabharata were the two great epics of this period. OCTOBER 2016 | WWW.WISHESH.COM

During the life time of Lord Gautam Buddha, sixteen great powers (Mahajanpadas) existed in the 7th and early 6th centuries BC. Among the more important republics were the Sakyas of Kapilavastu and the Licchavis of Vaishali. Besides the republics, there were monarchical states, among which the important ones were Kaushambi (Vatsa), Magadha, Kosala and Avanti. These states were ruled by vigorous personalities who had embarked upon the policies of aggrandisement and absorption of neighbouring states. However, there were distinct signs of the republican states while those under the monarchs were expanding. WWW.WISHESH.COM | OCTOBER 2016

At 4.50pm on September 08, 2016, the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (Isro) Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-F05 (GSLV-F05) lifted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh, carrying with it the INSAT3DR weather satellite. “GSLV-F05 is the tenth flight of India’s Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV). GSLV-F05 is the flight in which the indigenously developed Cryogenic Upper Stage (CUS) is being carried on-board for the fourth time during a GSLV flight,” Isro said in a statement after the rocket launch.
The 2,211-kg rocket has three stages, and the last stage is fitted with the cryogenic engine which provides a thrust that is 1.5 times greater than in vehicles propelled by conventional liquid rocket engines. Once launched, the rocket’s engines burn and fall off in stages. At the last stage, the cryogenic engine comes to life and takes the satellite to space. A propulsion puts the INSAT-3DR into a Geostationary Transfer Orbit (GTO).
INSAT-3DR has a Data Relay Transponder as well as a Search and Rescue Transponder to assist search and rescue operations of security agencies including all defence forces, the Coast Guard, and in shipping. The INSAT-3DR joins KALPANA-1 and INSAT-3D meteorological satellites currently orbiting in space. INSAT-3D which was launched in 2013 counted features like using Atmospheric Sounding System to monitor weather.
INSAT-3DR will be capable of imaging in two thermal infrared bands for estimation of sea surface temperature with better accuracy, as per ISRO. In its oval shaped GTO, the INSAT-3DR satellite is now orbiting the Earth with a perigee (nearest point to Earth) of 169.76 km and an apogee (farthest point to Earth) of 36,080.5 km with an orbital inclination of 20.62 deg with respect to the equator. It is not a question of embodied life, but it is the nature of the soul to be always active.
Verse meaning All men are forced to act helplessly according to the impulses born of the modes of material nature, therefore no one can refrain from doing something, not even for a moment.
Explanation
In contact with material energy, the spirit soul acquires material modes and to purify the soul from such affinities it is necessary to engage in the prescribed duties enjoined in the sastras. But if the soul is engaged in his natural function, whatever he is able to do is good for him.

Akira Akira is a film that falls flat because of the weak screenplay and a bad execution. Sonakshi Sinha struggles completely to impress the audience. Story : The story of Akira starts in Jodhpur, Rajasthan and is about Akira Sharma (Sonakshi Sinha) who has been forced to learn all the arts of protecting herself at an early age. She has been chosen martial arts rather than classical dance at an early age and while defending herself, she lands up in a juvenile prison. After coming out, Akira stays in a hostel. ACP Rane (Anurag Kashyap) and his batch of cops spot a huge dump of money however they end up killing up a person in recovering the money. The rest of the film is all about the involvement of Akira in this case and how she stays winning. Watch Akira to know about the film.
Analysis : The first half of Akira starts with a bang and it looks completely interesting and engaging. However because of the unwanted episodes the interest dips down and Sonakshi Sinha has been just ok in the assigned role. The dose of drama dominates the real scenes and on the whole the first half of Akira has been just ok and is not upto the mark. The second half of the movie suffers in all the available ways to sustain and impress the audience. Though Sonakshi tries her bust to live up to the expectations, it is again the unwanted drama which happened to be the major reason for the film’s disappointment. The levels of entertainment have been completely down and the screenplay has been quite loose. On the whole the second half of Akira is a huge disappointment.
Final Word: Akira is a film that falls flat because of the weak screenplay and a bad execution. Sonakshi Sinha struggles completely to impress the audience.
