In addition to its world-famous beach and rolling surf, Kuta has an assortment of restaurants serving various types of cuisine, from local fare to international selections. Although most are budget to mid-range, there are also a handful of high-end and luxury venues within five-star hotel premises that also welcome outside guests. The more lavish selections line the streets of Seminyak up north.

Nyepi is a Balinese “Day of Silence� homes. The only people to be seen out-

Nyepi, a Government holiday in Indonesia, is a day of silence, fasting and meditation for the Balinese. The day following Nyepi is also celebrated as New year.[1][2] Observed from 6 a.m. until 6 a.m. the next morning, Nyepi is a day reserved for self-reflection and as such, anything that might interfere with that purpose is restricted. The main restrictions are: no lighting fires (and lights must be kept low); no working; no entertainment or pleasure; no traveling; and for some, no talking or eating at all. The effect of these prohibitions is that Bali’s usually bustling streets and roads are empty, there is little or no noise from TVs and radios, and few signs of activity are seen even inside

Yah…! That’s the thew of a Cartoon Maestro Indonesia Keliek Siswoyo or usually known as “Doyok”. He was born in Wonokromo, Yogyakarta, Central Java, March 4th, 1955 from a humble family. After graduating from Senior High School, he decided to stay in his brother’s home in Tanjung Priok - Jakarta. Keliek had worked as a kenek and a driver oplet before eventually becoming a cartoon-

ist and joined the Harian Post Kota newspaper to fill the rubric Lembergar (Pictorial sheet) each day.

Almost all people in the city really know him. Starting from the lower classes to the upper classes. Drawing is not difficult, However the making of character has its own complexities, moreover to create the character of Indonesian, but Keliek can do it.

Nickname “Doyok” to him is the same as the name of the character that always he tell in Lembergar in the Harian Post Kota newspaper. Doyok first appeared in 1978. Doyok figure is a representation of the migrants who

try their luck in the city of Jakarta.

With the emergence of the figure of Doyok in rubric Lembergar in Harian Pos Kota makes it have its own color, because Doyok looks different with another cartoon character in Lembergar. Doyok not look fashionable, he was very humble and confident to remain in ketoprakan costume.

With his thew, the Keliek got a very positive response from his readers, because of that Harian Post Kota publishes Lembergar every day. The presence of comic cartoon “Doyok� also unimpressed mere slapstick sometimes sarcastic and cynical remarks, but still has a charge of moral message.

Keliek joined in the Harian Post Kota newspaper for more than 35 years.

A tremendous achievement to be consistent in duration of more than three decades working in the one media. Until H. Keliek Siswoyo died at the age of 57. Goodbye The Maestro Cartoon Indonesia.
