HOLIDAY MAGIC GOING ON NOW:
SKATING ON THE SQUARE: Through February 26 at Palmer Square’s “eco-friendly” outdoor synthetic skating rink located on Hulfish Street Behind the Nassau Inn. Open skate Thursday-Friday, 4-7 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday, 12-3 p.m. and 4-7p.m. Special hours on holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. $10 cash per person/$12 plus fees with credit card. Bring your own skates or borrow theirs (skate rental included in ticket price). Tickets sold at the door only. No reservations. RELAXED PERFORMANCE OF “A CHRISTMAS CAROL”: While open to everyone, relaxed performances are designed to serve individuals on the autism spectrum, those with cognitive or developmental disabilities, or other sensory sensitivities. At a relaxed performance, the play is performed at the same high quality as always, with the light and sound levels adjusted slightly to create a more sensory-sensitive environment. Volunteers are on hand to assist parents and caregivers, a family restroom is available, and there are designated activity and quiet areas in the lobby. Relaxed performances are a “shush-free” zone where patrons are free to talk and leave their seats throughout the performance, as well as bring their own snacks, fidgets, and communications devices with them to their seats.
