This award helps graduates to complete their Honours, Masters or PhD degrees by research or by a combination of course work and research – on both full – and part-time bases. A maximum of R53 800 in tuition fees is awarded to qualifying students. his award does not fund undergraduT ate professional degrees including LLB, MBBCH, BSc Eng, and BEd, as well as postgraduate diplomas, advanced diplomas or postgraduate certificates. his award does not cover accommoT dation, international registration fees, clubs and societies or parking. The postgraduate merit award is based purely on academic merit and the availability of funds. No application is necessary.
HAROLD AND DORIS TOTHILL SCHOLARSHIPS
This scholarship is available to all full-time Masters and PhD students studying in the English field. A special committee decides on the amount awarded to qualifying candidates. Applications are dependant on the availability of funds.

The NRF offers scholarships for Honours, Masters and PhD students. The Free-standing, Innovation and Scarce Skills NRF scholarships are offered to full-time students who are South African citizens and permanent residents. A small percentage is awarded to non-South African citizens.
