What comes after – how can architectural design be appreciated?
The study of architecture encourages our critical awareness of the built environment, and enhances our appreciation and understanding of architectural and spatial design. Through collecting materials such as drawings, models, photographs, videos, documents and other archival materials, the museum records the history of people and their place, encourages research in the field of architecture, and prompts reflection from our visitors about some of the broader issues facing our society.
M+ has already begun collecting architectural works before the museum opens, with the hope that the collection will have a positive effect on the study and future of the discipline.
