WKU Women’s Basketball’s defensive tenacity proved to be too much for the Sam Houston State Bearkats Saturday as the Lady Toppers took down the Bearkats 82-49.

“It’s great when the shots fall, we ’ ve been on the other end of that some games where it’s not so great, so to see that succeed, that’s a great stat,” guard Mackenzie Chatfield said It was a full team effort with four players in double-figures and four others with eight or more points. Chatfield led WKU with 13 points and 10 assists, getting her first career doubledouble
“The numbers are nice, but at the end of the day the win is even nicer, so I’m just glad we could do it all together and so many people stepped up today,” Chatfield said “To see the bench come in and do what they did, I’m just really proud of everybody and thankful for my teammates having the confidence in me to make some passes to them.”
