SGA awards scholarship, passes bills to fund upcoming events

The WKU Student Government Association held its weekly meeting on Tuesday, March 11, where they presented the Gregory McKinney Leadership and Involvement Black History Month scholarship and passed five bills to allocate funds for campus organizations and events.
Vice President Donté Reed presented Summer Doris and Kyanna Edmonds with the Gregory McKinney Leadership And Involvement Black History Month Scholarship Reed said the scholarship is designed to be awarded to an African American student who displays leadership skills through involvement on campus or in their community

Florida International University used a second-half surge Tuesday night, ending WKU Men’s Basketball’s season and its hopes of defending the Conference USA Tournament crown in a 64-61 win for the Panthers
FIU outscored WKU 42-34 in the second half FIU guard Jayden Brewer, who battled injury for most of the night, managed 17 points, 11 in the second half, and eight rebounds helping the Panthers survive and advance. Brewer had three of FIU’s seven steals and knocked down seven second-half free throws helping FIU put the game away.
