The goal of this course it to design a cookbook with

website and bookmark. The theme for my cookbook is to introducing Chinese herbal soup, the basic knowledge and the story behind it. Including ingredients and materials for recipe.

The book uses rich and colorful high-quality photos

to show what Chinese herbal soup is. Accompanied by an illustration of the main material for the soup. The book is divided in to 4 seasons, each chapter will be informing which herbal soup is best suited for the season, and how people normally collect them and cook it.

The goal of this course it to rebrand an existing brand.

I chose Sinopec, which is a major state-owned petroleum energy and chemicals company in China. The project includes a brand new identity system and its applications.

I used different colors in the logo to represent the

eight divisions from Sinopec. My goal was to make the brand look reliable. Using different blues all over the brand extension sets the tone for the brand. It shows how clean and safe their services are.

This project was a brand that extended into packag-

ing. I chose Peet's Coffee, a Bay Area based brand founded in 1996. It has a long history and I wanted to update it.

a p p r oac h

I gave the brand a new look with a modern style.

I used sans-serif with a simple box and lines, and a cup icon. The color of coffee beans was important to the message of Peet's brand.

The goal of this course it to design a paint packaging

system for a selected architect. The concept from those architects were applied to a new label design.

approach

I chose Tadao Ando from Japan, he is a great architect.

He is very good at using cement and geometry in his work. I like how minimal his buildings are. I was inspired by his Child of Light and 21 21 Design Sight, etc. I applied these design to my packaging.

The goal of this course is to choose a world problem

and use graphic design, such as an app, website or book to find a way to solve the problem.

The topic I chose was animal rescue and protection.

Animals are often at risk because of natural and man-made reasons. In this project, I focused on the design of an app and accompanied it with promotions on different platforms.

Unlike the previous project, the topic needs to be

selected on Tedtalk and well researched. Then, applied them to fill a book with informative content and data.

The topic I chose is urban beekeeping. I chose it

because when I watched a Tedtalk, I realized that it is rare to see bees nowadays. Bees are gradually disappearing for many reasons. And the ensuing impact is huge. So, I wanted to let more people know the meaning and the effect of urban beekeeping, and promote this idea as one way to help the bee population.

The task for this project is to choose a beer brand to

redesign, extended to the logo and packaging labels. The packaging includes different shapes, such as bottles, cans and a 6-pack container.

approach

The Fat Tire series I redesigned had an interesting story

behind it. The founders ride bicycles with fat tires. They taste different beers while travelling Europe by bike. So I put the concept of road cycling into the label design.

The project is very abstract. The content is to design

an app that not existing yet. Also, the platform is not limited to existing devices such as iPhones or Apple Watches.

approach

The app has the ability for sharing and finding items.

The device is implanted in the brain and when activated, the interface will automatically appears holographically in front of the user, like advanced AR. User gesture in the air to interact.
