+ FREELAND_Intensive Production System at Lisbon Airport

MArch Thesis: ETSAM_UPM - C&TWith Honors

Nominated work: PFC, TFM and Doctoral Thesis Awards COAM, Madrid. 2022

Location: Lisbon, Portugal

I nstructor: Fernando Rodriguez Fernandez _FRPO Architects

We turned the airport into a productive space carried out in three interconnected operations of different scales.A productive landscape inside the runway and on its new perimeter, taking advantage of the porous (soil), floodable and paved areas, a new logistical ring of plant and exchange that mixes people and technology, and a reorganization of Terminal I with an assembly of new floors and ceilings, converted into a multi-programmatic space where different layers of use converge throughout the day.

These scenarios use natural resources and the airport’s own logic to show how alternative intervention modelscan harness land value and internal partnerships to generate systemic change.

New production landscape, with new wet landscapes, fruit orchards, wet reeds, and intensive production fields.

BArch Final Project_STUDIO P8_With honors

Nominated work: Open day ETSAM. 2019

Location: Spain

The value of human perception leads us to ask what urban space must look like if it is to respond reliably to the changes in our midst, and how we can interact more closely with our experience as key actors in the city. In one of the busiests avenues in the city of Madrid, an urban exploration is carried out to understand the proposed space and an inquiry into the needs and possibilities of the contemporary city. In the search for a balance between the improvement of interpersonal relations and a responsible environmental solution that empowers us as social individuals, a technological space is proposed that functions as a citizen forum capable of hosting a large amount of customizable data from the city.

+ TRAIN FACTORY MIXED-USE _A roof for Helsinki

International competition (45.000 m2). MASSLAB

Nominated work: 1º Prize. Winner competition. 2023

Location: Helsinki, Finland

M y role: Computational Design, Structural Design, 3D Modeling and Printing

The new Train Factory area should be for everyone - a mixed use neighbourhood that accommodates a system of paths, parks, plazas, and open spaces that encourages people to spend more time outdoors, together. A place where there is space for both an active life and a quiet retreat. A new tiny-forest combined with a thriving multi-level public space will become a destination in the city, inviting visitors with a full offering of cultural life, sports, and leisure activities. Our vision for the Train Factory will enhance and build upon the rich cultural heritage of the area, which hosts relevant historical buildings and large public spaces. A strategy

+ DOMESTIC DAWNS_MCH in 21st century Europe

Researcher at MCH (Master in Collective Housing)

Nominated work: Finalist FAD Thought & Criticism. 2023

Location: Museum ICO. Madrid, Spain

M y role: Project Researcher, 3D Modeling, International Communication

Through 28 paradigmatic examples of built housing organized around seven categories - Climate awareness, Active recharging, Domestic care, New management, Urban contexts, Living and sharing and Iconic identities - plus a Covid epilogue, the exhibition shows the fundamental concepts of the new habitability that are being developed in collective housing in early 21st century Europe, thus encouraging a debate that provokes reflection and the involvement of professionals, administrations and society in general.

+ HERDADE DA BARROSINHA _Urban regeneration

International competition (14.999.514.00 m2). OODA+MASSLAB`+P4

Nominated work: 1º Prize. Winner competition. 2023

Location: Lisbon, Portugal

M y role: Urban designer, Physical model making, Computational Design

The proposal proposes the regeneration of the village at a programmatic, urban and landscaping level. The programme will be distributed in rings, according to the type of occupation. Each of the rings has a circular itinerary associated with it, which interconnects with the other itineraries. In the first ring, the occupation is essentially with first dwellings. This first ring is served by the mini-loop, a circuit of about 2 kilometres linking two holiday villages, each with a facility. This ring is served by the middle loop, a route of about 9 km. In the fourth ring we have planned nature tourism programmes, namely glamping in a mixed forest area, wine tourism integrated in the vineyard and several watchtowers located at notable points.

+ ADRO_São Ciro Housing

International competition (20.000 m2). MASSLAB.

Nominated work: 1º Prize. Winner competition. 2023

Location: Lisbon, Portugal

M y role: D esign Research, Masterplan Design, 3D Modeling

With a strong focus on creating a “people-oriented city”, the proposal’s core principle revolves around the intrinsic relationship between built mass and public spaces – the office stands for design public space before private. To emphasize this vision, the proposal stems from two generous public zones: a lush green garden and a stable paved square. Though seemingly contrasting in nature, these spaces harmoniously complement each other when experienced together. The organic design of the garden offers multiple sensory experiences making use of water features, topography, lighting, vegetation, and visual connectivity.

+ TRANSMUTATIONAL FOOD_Prototype

Leadership of International Workshop.

Workshop leader: Wladimir Pulupa & Helena Ortin

Nominated work: “The Metabolic Sublime”. 2023

Mentoring: Liam Young, Marina Otero and Joana Moll

Location: Matadero Madrid

My role: Promoter, Researcher

The workshop is focused on exploring new ways to conceive food supply based on self-sufficiency and a circular model for the optimization of the nutrients. Exploring the potential of food enzymes and ecological architecture, we would like to generate a prototype of a future urban space where food production, processing and accessibility are part of every citizen’s daily life. What would be the sociological and physiological impact of integrating agriculture and biochemistry into urbanism? Could we embrace the novelty of using food enzymes in our everyday life?

+ FORENSIC ARCHITECTURE_Atlas of Disappearance

Selected for International Workshop.

Workshop leader: Manuel Correa

Nominated work: National media exposure. 2022

Location: Spain, Madrid

My role: Researcher

Atlas of Disappearance is a forensic documentary that relies on new architectural technologies to digitally unearth crimes that have largely disappeared from memory. In hidden ossuaries inside Franco’s mausoleum and war monument known as ‘El Valle de Los Caídos’ lie an estimated 33,800 human remains. A still unknown number of victims of enforced disappearance were brought here clandestinely during the dictatorship. The scale of this atrocity has only recently come to light.

+ ARCHITECTURE BIENNALE 18 Freespace

International Exhibition

Curator of Spanish Pavillion: Atxu Amann

Nominated work: Exhibition of academic projects. 2018

Location: Venice, Italy

M y role: Researcher

Becoming, the Spanish Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2018, seeks to respond to the general theme of the event through the proposals and research being developed in the different learning environments within the country, placing special emphasis on the architect’s new multidisciplinary profile. Becoming looks to the future, and a common ground of training in schools, which extends to other learning spaces and at times creates a dialogue with other disciplines.

+ BREEDING SPACE_Living architecture

Collaboration in International Workshop.

Workshop leader: Maria Mallo

Nominated work: Biennale d’Art Contemporain de Rabat, Maroc. 2019

Location: Rabat, Morocco

M y role: Design, Production, Photography

Breeding Space is an architecture that is alive, growing, cultivating and even generating edible by-products. A space created from generative algorithms and oyster mushroom mycelium on straw. Built between a digital manufacturing company, an artesanal workshop and a garage converted into a laboratory.
