Lexington is no sleepy little college town. Affectionately dubbed “Lex Vegas” by students and locals, Lexington is frequently named one of the region’s best small towns. It boasts plenty of amenities and entertainment options — farm-to-table eateries and casual burger joints, galleries, shops and live music jams — all with an independent streak. Not to mention the nation’s only community-owned drive-in movie theater! Our location in Virginia’s beautiful Shenandoah Valley is an added bonus for outdoor enthusiasts. The Blue Ridge and Allegheny mountains provide a scenic playground for hikers, cyclists, climbers, paddlers and fly fishers. The nearby Appalachian Trail is the site of pre-orientation trips for first-year students, as well as Outing Club excursions throughout the year. There’s so much to do that Washington, D.C. you’ll want to stay close to campus.
