Before this workshop, I had no knowledge of how to use InDesign but after the workshop I have developed some knowledge on how to work certain things and have really enjoyed the experience.

The image I chose is from a button on an elevator. I thought that the arrow represented the letter A and liked the shape of it as its quite pointed at the ends and I also liked the colour red inside of the shape.

I think Graphic Design is a subject that allows designers to create something that is both visually pleasing using typography to advertise and engage the public. I chose this course because I have a growing interest in fonts and using them to create designs. I usually experiment free hand with fonts, putting them in different places etc.
Within the workshop I learned how to use different types of tools in InDesign to create a layout with photos.
This letterform represents the letter Q . I used part of a poster and photgraphed it at an angle where it would appear as the letter Q. The photo isn't really colourful but what stood out the most what the white font on a black background.

This letterform is my favourite as it represents a piano which incorporates other instruments. I feel the shape reminded me of the letter ‘L’. It was found on the second floor.

Graphic Design expresses a form of art that is all around us from leaflets, TV commercial art, t-shirt design and logos. Even though it is something more for others I find that I can still enjoy it and express myself through my work. I am highly interested in this course as it enables me to learn things I couldn’t in past academic years.

This workshop has been very helpful in the fact that in past academic years we have never learnt the importance of typefaces, or how they are used within Graphic Design. I am glad I can take this back to college.

This letter form is very intriguing, I found this by the lifts, it reminds me of when I was a teenager, quite recently my work has involved the year 2000, the expressive year , the year everyone was taking life as it is. The glow , the reflection , the colour stands out above the black. Staring at you.

I think that it is a way to show communication and emotions thought digital art and I want to learn how to be able to express myself and others through this course. I think it will make my future more exciting.
I think this is a great place to get a small glimpse into the graphics world and also see what you will be doing in the future. I have learned through this experience that I have a passion from graphics and will love to learn more.
I fount this whole letter as a graphic design work on the wall. this is a gorgeous piece which one would think relates to plants or leaves but is more focused on the music. I love the way it is designed and shows the mixture of music and leaves. There are not many colors and it doesn't need many, just simple colors have a perfect fusion with the background.

I found this ‘k’ on a window and the painting behind it interested me. I managed to place the k infront of it and the photo focuses on the figure in the painting. The shape of the k creates an interesting composition with parts of the painting obscured.

Graphic design is using imagery to communicate something to a person such as a poster, leaflet, logos etc.
In he workshop today I learnt to look more at my surroundings to find more creative ways to answer a brief. I also learnt some basic skills within indesign.
This is my favourite letter as it is the most abstract I found out of all of my letters as it represents the letter ‘Z’. I also lke the neutral colours next to harsh red and the illustrative style.

Graphic design is designing things graphically... It includes advertising, photography, illustration, animation, digital art, phyical art and much more.
The work shop was good, we were able to explore the building and figure out where everything is. It also showed us some new ideas on Typography, photography and digital programes.
The design is a picture/drawing of a pair of handcuffs. Because of the posistion of the handcuffs it makes the letter G. I especially like the colouring, where the only colour in the image is red, and the style it is drawn in. I also like the symbolism behind the idea of handcuffs, it would work well on a political poster.
