The eighth edition of the the prestigious and highly anticipated Awards, held on 28 December 2017 in the stunning Madinat Jumeirah Resort, again sees the world’s best come together to acknowledge the performances of 2017 and celebrate the Award winners at a gala evening. With an impressive list of nominees reading like the Who’s Who of world football, only the best will be successful in taking home one of the coveted trophies. The award candidates have been chosen by the Globe Soccer jury, which includes international footballing coaches, directors and chairmen. Each year the shortlist for the Best Club of the Year Award is drawn up by the European Club Association.

Globe Soccer Awards ceremony has always done everything possible to give the football stars the chance to score a symbolic goal by offering their support to an important cause. In occasion of the annual Gala Dinner in Dubai, stars of the soccer world, along with sport managers and business representatives will gather together to enjoy a night that aims to celebrate not only the best of soccer, but also altruism and charity. This year, thanks to the support of CharityStars, we are holding a special charity auction that will run throughout the night to raise important funds in favor of the local charity Dubai Cares.
Dubai Cares is a philanthropic organization working to improve children’s access to quality primary education in developing countries.
CharityStars is the fundraising event specialist for highend Galas, trusted by major charity organizations (Novak Djokovic Foundation, Fashion for Relief, Global Gift Gala and many others). Our goal is to make giving fun and rewarding. Winners get the chance to live a dream, celebrities support causes they’re passionate about and charities spend less time fundraising and more time creating positive change. In four years we raised more than 10 million dollars in favor of 450+ charities.
Launched in September 2007 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Cares expresses his desire to give children, regardless of their gender, nationality, race or religion, the opportunity to become positive contributors to society. Dubai Cares is playing a key role in helping achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal, which aims to ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning by 2030, by supporting programs in early childhood development, access to quality primary and secondary education, technical and vocational education and training for youth as well as a particular focus on education in emergencies and protracted crises.

CARLO CRACCO A pioneer in progressive Italian cuisine, Carlo Cracco is universally acclaimed for his innovative take on classic Italian foods, combining the Milanese tradition with modern tastes and aesthetics. Cracco attended the Istituto Professionale Alberghiero in Recoaro Terme and began his culinary career in 1986 in the kitchen of Milan-based Gualtiero Marchesi, the home of modern Italian cuisine and the first Italian restaurant to have three Michelin stars. His experience took him to the kitchens of Alain Ducasse and Alain Sanderens, as well as to Florencebased L’Enoteca Pinchiorri, which earned three Michelin stars under his management. Gualtiero Marchesi called him back for the opening of his restaurant “L’Albereta”, Erbusco, where Cracco worked as chef for the next three years. Soon afterwards he opened the “Le Clivie” in Piobesi d’Alba, which was awarded a Michelin star after a year. Accepting an invitation from the Stoppani family in 2001, owners of Milan’s famous gourmet shop “Peck – in Milan since 1883, to open “Cracco-Peck Restaurant”. In July 2007, Cracco took over the restaurant and renamed it simply, Ristorante Cracco. The same year it was voted to World’s 50 Best Restaurants and got its first Michelin star.
IZU ANI Growing up in London, Izu’s passion for the kitchen began during his home economics classes at school. He finished his studies and launched into his career by joining Michelin starred “The Square” in Mayfair. Four years later, he was inspired to travel to France to experience Nouvelle cuisine first hand and lived there for 6 years, which encouraged and influenced his culinary style and flair for French flavours. Izu then set his sights on Spain where he gained invaluable experience at such renowned restaurants as Arzak, Mugaritx and Akelarre, each offering him kitchen experience in very different culinary fields. Returning to London, Izu continued his culinary journey by relaunching the menu at Vanilla. He drew inspiration from his time in Spain and in the process became well respected for his innovative flavours and techniques. It was during this period that Izu was offered the opportunity to relocate to Dubai, to launch the French restaurant, La Petite Maison. The opening of La Petite Maison was a great opportunity for Izu; having experienced working in the South of France, he understood the flavours and culture very well. He set a new standard with the quality of ingredients and made it into The World’s 100 Best Restaurants in less than 2 years after its opening.
