Message From Our President
Women Offshore’s impact was tremendous in 2022, and we expanded our programs to empower our community!
As a direct result of supporters like you, we hired more staff to expand our programs. The team grew our Sexual Assault & Violence Eradication (SAVE) Program to align with the USCG and CGIS to report sexual misconduct on the water. Our organization spoke with maritime groups to highlight the challenges victims face and provided feedback on the Safer Seas Act to prevent and respond to sexual misconduct on US-flagged vessels
Our Career Services Program was launched in the latter half of the year. The program coordinator, Christine MacMillan, assisted 12 candidates, coaching them and providing scholarships to cover necessary training Working alongside companies, large and small, Christine has strived to place women+ in roles that will begin or further their careers on the water.
Whether it was our Benefit Gala, Career Day, or Annual Conference, we used our platform to raise voices in our community and provide resources to propel careers forward. We also introduced a new event, anonlineInclusionSummit,whereleadersin diversity,equity,inclusion,andbelonging (DEIB)ledworkshopsonreducingthegender gapatmaritimecompanies
Beyondourevents,wetackledimportant topicsonsocialmediaandpodcasts, drivingthemaritimeandoffshore industriestowardchangeandacultureof belonging.Peoplearelistening!In2022 alone,wereachedover1.9millionreaders, listeners,andviewers.
