In an industry dominated by men, Omaha landscapers Sarah Perry and Nancy Sohns are thriving. They started S&N Landscape Design in 2006 and incorporated the company in 2012. The firm’s mission includes a commitment to clear communication with clients and a team approach to getting the job done.

Their team includes a crew that has been with the company for over 10 years, which is a real testament to the positive environment Sarah and Nancy have created. The co-founders’ journey began when they met working at a local nursery. Their philosophy toward landscaping and hard work just clicked, and a unique partnership was set in motion.

Landscape design focuses on putting the right plants in the right places. This gives plants the correct sunlight and water requirements to mature to their desired height and width. “The industry has had a number of challenges because of the pandemic,” Nancy notes. “Product availability was delayed, shipping delays continue, and the cost of labor and supplies has increased.” Despite these difficulties, Nancy is quick to point out that the rewards far outweigh the challenges. “Sarah and I are overjoyed when we see a happy client taking pride in their yard and showing excitement about the outcome.” S&N takes the time to educate clients on proper care for the plants they’ve installed. “When clients take care of their landscape, it’s a true demonstration that they value our work and expertise.”
