Woodberry Compass asks middle school boys to dive deep into new challenges on our picturesque 1,200-acre Virginia campus.
June 20–27, 2020 Rising 7th, 8th, and 9th grade boys
Woodberry Compass is built on four big ideas, all foundational in the lives of young men: Adventure | Intellect | Honor | Leadership Each day, campers take on two main activities, one from the Adventure category and one from the Intellect category. In the morning, they’ll either hike the Perimeter Trail, romp in the Rapidan River, or scale our climbing tower. After lunch, they’ll work in teams to build drones that operate on the code that they’ve learned and written themselves. In the evening, the whole camp comes together for a leadership simulation. Boys immerse themselves in roles that interact — and sometimes conflict — with one another. With help from counselors and camp faculty, they’ll learn how to work together to overcome these conflicts and accomplish team goals.

Woodberry Forest Sports Camp offers boys of all skill levels the opportunity to learn a variety of team and individual sports in a fun and encouraging environment.
June 14–July 3, 2020 Boys ages 11–14
Woodberry Forest Sports Camp is a wonderful tradition that offers boys three weeks of fun activities and exciting competition, as well as an opportunity to build relationships on and off the playing fields. Additionally, Sports Camp counselors help to build character in boys by knowing, challenging, and loving each young man as he engages in camp life. Nearly all of the camp staff are Woodberry faculty, alumni, or students. Many of them were talented high school, college, and even professional athletes in a wide range of sports. But what brings them to Woodberry each summer is a love for hard but friendly competition and a belief that boys perform their best when working with coaches who encourage and believe in them. Whether a boy is a standout athlete or looking to try a new sport for the first time, he’ll find great teammates and friends at Sports Camp.
