LIFE
Your Life. Your Community. Your News.
June ▪ 2014
June Each month Woodbridge LIFE takes a forward look at what is coming up and a retrospective glance back at events that have taken place in our community. Our sincere thanks to skilled photographers Volker Moerbitz and Robert Philis for attending as many events as possible to record for all of us the memories created as residents make the Woodbridge lifestyle their style of life. If you weren't able to attend the Easter Egg Hunt, the Artists and Crafters Show or the Woodbridge 100, we have many photos to help you feel like you were at all three. Think about joining Volker Moerbitz's group walk to the Three Rivers Pow Wow in July. The Pow Wow is a colorful display of Native American culture and an almost-in-our-neighborhood event well worth attending.

I
have loved the view of Lake Rockwell since I moved to Woodbridge. When I decided to have some work done on my Ford truck, back in 2009, I had to replace the tailgate before it could be painted. Since Woodbridge is the last place I plan to live, I immediately thought of having my favorite lake scene painted on the new tailgate. Larry Alvarez of the Airbrush Shop in Modesto did the painting. He has been airbrushing professionally since 1990 and specializes in custom graphics on cars, trucks and motorcycles; on motorcycle and batting helmets; on catcher and goalie masks; and on murals and team banners.
Larry came out and took several pictures of Lake Rockwell and the Lakeview Clubhouse and went back to Modesto with my truck’s tailgate to work on. I have had the truck for over forty years. It was originally my daily driver for work. I wrecked it pretty badly about fifteen years ago and the insurance company wanted to total it but my insurance man convinced them not to. Thank goodness! I have shown the truck in a couple of car shows here at Woodbridge and everyone loves the tailgate. I have the truck in a shop right now having some more changes done to it.
