I am immensely proud to introduce a celebration booklet that marks an important day in the history of Woodlands. On Thursday, October 13th, 2016 we had the great honour of welcoming HRH The Duchess of Gloucester GCVO to officially open our new school buildings and facilities. I can report that she was very impressed by our school and graciously acknowledged the huge amount of hard work that has gone in to delivering a first class space to study.
In the evening we were treated to a wonderful Gala Concert that perfectly captured the celebratory mood of the day. In 2014 Woodlands set off on an exciting journey to build a new school and now, in our sixtieth year, we can feel proud at it’s completion. A special congratulations to those individuals involved in it’s creation and a huge ‘Well Done’ to everyone for their hard work in bringing the Gala Concert to the stage. The following pages document the day in pictures. I do hope you enjoy looking through a special memento of a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Alan Brady Headteacher

As things around us change The story stays the same The years have passed on by But the childhood still remains The chance to learn and grow Encouraged to create Enhance by love and care There’s a lot to celebrate What are we in this for? Sometimes it’s hard when we can’t see We should aspire and achieve To be the best that we can be And time will carry on Many futures all prepared A world out there to find Taught by those who care What are we in this for? Sometimes it’s hard when we can’t see We should aspire and achieve To be the best that we can be It’s important to belong, everyone has a place To overcome each challenge that they face The happiness that we feel when we begin to understand To let our dreams unfold as life has planned
