AARP Driver Safety Course Why take a driver safety course? Because driving has changed since you first got your license. Cars have changed, so have traffic rules, driving conditions and the roads you travel on every day. Some drivers age 50+ have never looked back since they got their first driver’s licenses, but even the most experienced drivers can benefit from brushing up on their driving skills. By taking a driver safety course you’ll learn the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques, and how to operate your vehicle more safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment. You’ll learn how you can manage and accommodate common age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time. You must attend both days to receive certificate. You may be eligible to receive an insurance discount upon completing the course. Consult with your agent for details. Participants will pay instructor on day of class.

GOLF One of Robert Bruce Harris’ first designs, Village Greens of Woodridge has been a staple of Chicagoland golf for over 40 years. Rich in natural wooded beauty, 18 holes of championship golf in a picturesque setting await you. Widely-known as one of the best values for golf in the Chicago area, Village Greens is a challenge worth telling your friends about. The course terrain is hilly and rolling with a variety of mature trees lining each fairway. Water comes into play on a number of holes, and sand bunkers lurk in strategic positions. Undulating greens, large landing areas and multiple tees on all holes create a course of both beauty and playability.

Woodridge Park District
Coach of the Year Award The Woodridge Park District recognizes the importance of volunteer coaches in our athletic programs. Coaching youth sports is more than just teaching the X’s and the O’s. Good Sportsmanship, a positive attitude and self discipline are expected by parents and nowadays expectations couldn’t be higher. We would like to recognize the efforts of some of our coaches and so we are looking for nominations. Any coach who has coached in the 2018 calendar year is eligible to be nominated. This coach should have demonstrated at minimum the following qualities: • Good sportsmanship: Are players encouraged to be respectful of opponents? Does the coach place the well being of his/her players ahead of winning? Does the coach practice what he/she preaches? • Player Development: Are players motivated to come to practice and learn? Does the coach create an environment that is fun and challenging for all players? • Leadership: Does the coach promote a positive atmosphere among the team, fans and parents? Does the coach create an upbeat image of coaching and the role of the coach? All nominations must be received by October 15, 2018. The winner will be chosen on November 1, 2018. The winner and all nominees will also be recognized at the volunteer appreciation party. Nomination forms will be available at the Woodridge Park District Community Center or the ARC and may also be faxed or emailed upon request.

» Lisle Park District Recreation Center 1925 Ohio Street , Lisle » Westmont Park District Community Center 75 E. Richmond Street, Westmont Waterfowl Concerns Regular feeding of waterfowl can cause dependency on people for food, bird and people conflicts, and the spread of disease. Please refrain from feeding the birds at Lake Carleton and Lake Harriet along with other lakes in the area. The waterfowl have become used to handouts and no longer migrate south in the winter. The once wild birds have become tame and have lost their fear of cars and people, which can lead to traffic problems and possible injury. With the growing populations of waterfowl in small concentrated areas, the competition for food is high. The less nutritious handouts and harsh weather increase their susceptibility to life threatening diseases. We ask that you please do not feed the waterfowl. Thank you for your support. For more information, please contact the Woodridge Park District at (630) 353-3300.

Satisfaction Guaranteed and Refund Procedure
Behavior Policy
The Woodridge Park District offers a “Satisfaction Guaranteed” Policy for all of our recreation programs! (Trips, summer day camps, pool passes and one-day events excluded). We are committed to giving the residents of Woodridge quality programs at reasonable prices, and we are prepared to stand behind the programs we offer. If you are not completely satisfied with the program after attending two classes, stop by the Community Center before the third meeting to fill out an “unsatisfied” refund form. We will invite you to repeat a class at no charge, receive a credit toward another program in the session, or receive a full refund (minus $5 administrative charge). No refund will be granted after the third meeting of the program or after 50% of the classes have been held (whichever is earlier) with the exception of a written medical excuse prior to completion of the program. A $5 administrative charge will be deducted from the amount of refund for each program, including refunds for medical reasons. Medical excuses will result in a pro-rated refund based upon the number of classes held prior to the date listed on the physician’s excuse. No refunds will be given for a trip unless there is a replacement participant or the trip is cancelled. The Park District does reserve the right to cancel a program if the enrollment is not sufficient to justify sponsorship of the activity.
