The Market is the Market! Is it about to change? There are several indicators to show that we are getting some positive signs in the Property market. Primarily, this is due to employment statistics indicating that jobs are appearing to be on the up and up - the mining sector is starting to employ people again and we know what that means! When this happens, jobs equal growth – growth equals people, which, in turn equals more demand on housing. Nevertheless, lets not get carried away.....as initially this will mean a more active market, BUT ultimately, increased activity means pressure on prices . Lately we are seeing a marked interest in applications on rental properties in some instances, we are seeing tenants competing for properties on price - this again is an indicator that if continued, we will see a fall out from tenants renting to pursuing buying as rents increase. Furthermore, fuelling this increase is the rise in commodity prices which, is driving the stock market again.....higher commodity prices denotes increased investment and more jobs as the cycle continues. Western Australia and NT both have economies that are connected to the Mining industry. We are not a gateway city like Sydney or even now Melbourne who feed themselves on population growth and are not hinged to the historic economic cycle as we know and understand .....we believe the wheel is turning the clock is ticking and the time to buy is now!
