If you read about it, it’s already happened Have we reached the bottom of the market?…..It’s likely that prices won’t go any lower than where we are now and popular opinion is, that we are looking for a turnaround in values. Like I said, if you read about it - its already happened. Sometimes you just have to trust your own instincts and judgement, right now mine tells me that the market is just right to buy Real Estate! It’s not just my opinion either, if you read the newspapers they are starting to talk very positively about the Real estate market in Perth – at this stage they are just predicting gains. Look out for when they start to get even more content within Real Estate, that’s when you will know that it’s on its way UP. We have been in the doldrums for some time – in fact about 10 years ago property values were similar to what they are now. That’s how far (we haven’t) come BUT there are some positive markets out there. The share market is recovering - we are approaching the last high in the all ordinaries index and once the share market recovers, we can expect the Real estate market to flow on. Why? Because I believe that the Western Australian property market is more hinged to the stock market due to its exposure to commodity prices and industry – and therefore more likely to recover on its influence. Not the price gains we have seen in Sydney and Melbourne, those markets have different drivers and if you like “running to the beat of a different drum” we seem to follow the traditional economic clock more closely. Only my opinion, but lots of other people are speaking the same language – so take it all on board and remember that research is key and with so many resources available there really is no excuse to be ill informed.
